I would like to express my concern regarding the billing process at the hospital where my aunt was admitted. When I requested the bill, I received a copy that only provided a general overview of the charges, without any detailed breakdown of the individual expenses. The bill mentioned categories such as room and nursing charges, ICU charges, medicine and consumables charges, professional fees charges, investigation charges, and miscellaneous charges. However, it did not provide specific itemized details for each category. Upon inquiring about this, I was informed that a detailed bill would be provided within the next 45 days. Unfortunately, even for a previous admission that occurred more than 45 days ago, we have not received any further breakdown of the charges. As a result, we are left in a state of uncertainty regarding the specific costs incurred during the hospital stay. We understand that the bill is being processed through the mediclaim procedure, but it is essential for transparency and clarity that a comprehensive breakdown of expenses is made available to patients and their families. Waiting for an extended period without receiving the necessary information can be quite frustrating. We kindly request that the hospital expedites the process of providing detailed bills for both current and past admissions. As patient and patient's family we have the right to know the specific costs incurred during the hospital stay. During her stay, a completely inexperienced staff member punctured her artery while attempting to draw blood. This horrifying incident resulted in a substantial loss of blood, putting my mother's health at serious risk. It is shocking that Shatabdi Hospital would hire individuals who are not registered with the appropriate medical or nursing councils. The incompetence, lack of professionalism, and rudeness displayed by the staff is beyond comprehension. They seemed oblivious to my mother's prescribed medications and showed a complete disregard for her well-being. This is not the first time I have had a terrible experience with Shatabdi Hospital. It is evident that they prioritize profit over patient care. I am highly skeptical of their so-called NABH accreditation and strongly believe it was obtained through questionable means. The kind of care they provide is nothing short of a nightmare, and I am determined to ensure that others do not have to go through the same ordeal. To anyone considering seeking treatment at Shatabdi Hospital, I implore you to reconsider. The level of incompetence and greed displayed by this institution is beyond comprehension. Due to the time-consuming nature of the mediclaim approval process, the hospital tends to delay patient discharges until Monday. While I understand the necessity of obtaining proper approvals, it would be beneficial if the hospital could initiate the process earlier, considering the expected discharge on Monday. Furthermore, the delay in receiving the discharge until the afternoon, and sometimes even until the evening, can be quite inconvenient for patients and their families. It would be appreciated if the hospital could make efforts to expedite the discharge process to minimize unnecessary waiting times. One aspect that particularly affects patients is the handling of medication. In some cases, all the medication is sent to the pharmacy for return, without keeping a few doses of tablets or injections for the patient in case the discharge is delayed. It would be prudent for the hospital staff to ensure that patients have access to essential medications, even if there are unexpected delays in the discharge process. In addition, it is concerning that the staff may not have access to the patient's current medication information when inquiring about due medications. They often mention that the patient's file has been sent to the mediclaim department, leaving them unaware of the medication status. It would be beneficial if the hospital could maintain a separate copy of the medication list for reference in case of any issues or uncertainties.
