Sharma Bhojnalaya - Vegetarian restaurant in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

One of the best places to for vegetarians @ very cheap cost. Not a very modern place with great ambience but Desi touch with tasty food makes it the most deadly combo. The restaurant is right in front of the Hotel Ladybird and near Police Bazaar. There are twin restaurants one of them serves Poori Chole, Samosa, Kachori, Mithai etc and the Sharma Veg Thali serves the Vegetarian thali which includes Butter Roti, Rice, Curry, Dal, Green Vegetable, Papad, Salad that too in unlimited quantity. Last time I had my lunch and that cost me Rs130 per Thali and Poori Sabji for Rs50 for 4 numbers of Poori. The staff is quite friendly and welcoming. You won't regret coming here. Overall it is one of the better options for Vegetarians people finding food that too in Heart of Shillong.

Nice hot ghee chapati's served.. and also Dal rice tastes tastes good..Green chutney too tastes good. Best part is whole thali is unlimited

Home style no frill pure veg north Indian food. Unlimited thali of 1 sabji, 1 Tari and dal with roti, rice and onion with chatni. Additional raita and chilli. Unlimited portions. All food freshly cooked. Served hot and delicious with dollop of ghee. If you are from north India, are tired of continental and non veg food, and are looking for home style pure veg food. Located in first floor at end of police bazaar lane. Parking for car is available across the restaurant. You can reach here by car or taxi. Car wipp drop you at entrance. No lift, so you have to climb to first floor for old people and children. They do not have cold drinks. They do not customise food. They have mineral water bottles.

Don't know about the food but the place was not clean and the atmosphere wasn't healthy and a foul smell was coming from the kitchen as well as the dining area, we went there for lunch but didn't eat because it wasn't clean

I have no idea how this place has less than 4 stars avg. Great food, unlimited thali @ Rs100, it doesn't get cheaper than that. And there's no compromise on quality or hygiene. Definitely recommend this to everyone!

Excellent vegetable food thali system with very tasty Home Made like North Indian food(Desi ghee ki Roti+ Simple Daal + Two Subji + Very Tasty Green pudina Chutney) + Papad + Simple Salad with of course free water ( Not like expensive Restaurants Like Bistro Restaurant, Shillong).
