Shan-E-Punjab - Punjabi restaurant in Bokaro Steel City - Bokaro, India

I went to celebrate my friend's birthday. Food quality is just average. We tried both veg & non-veg but we weren't able to finish all the food. Service is also decent and it took too much time to prepare food even though the restaurant is vacant.

Ideally I would've rated 3 overall but for the sake of my childhood memories, I'm rating 4 stars. Let's address elephant in the room first, food offerings and it's quality. Menu is broadly the same since 20+ years with standard variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Can't speak for non-veg items, but the taste of veg dishes haven't changed at all, so personally for me that's a good thing. Rarely have I seen them goof up with taste, as that's their legacy/strength. I wish they experiment and introduce new items, but their hesitance might be due to the demography they're serving. Talking about ambience and seating arrangement, again nothing has changed for good. Seating arrangement is exactly the same that used to be decades back, with those 10 tables, barely functional window ACs, dull wall paintings, dim lighting & poor decor. This ambience used to look great 20-25 years back but now it's high time they change it. Located still on the first floor with building steps built by some novice civil engineer. That narrow passage and those steps are no more fine for my parents who used to be their regular customer in their youth. Hope owners comprehend changing landscape & act (like Mansarovar). Now a view on customer service! In simple words, it was bad even 2 decades back, where we had to wait really long to get food but now it's getting worse by every passing year and they just don't care. Kitchen gets orders more than it can deliver and now with swiggy/zomato partners in queue, customer service is disastrous beyond words. And what's with the arrogance of the guy who sits at counter (still cherish memories of loving 'uncleji' who used to be at counter). For parking space, earlier it used to be mostly scooter/bikes so enough space on streets to park but now it's difficult with cars (which entire Bokaro has but only 70% of them can actually drive).

This is my updated review. I must say Shan e Punjab has done a marvelous job. I will rate this place on some below mentioned things : Food : 4.5 Stars( I have tried many dishes from their list most of them are just best in Bokaro. They completely satisfy our cravings and look reasonable for that price and worthy for that taste) Hospitality : 5 Stars(They are nailing it in this department. You are going to love that.) View : 3.5 Stars(From outside it's little difficult to find this place but from inside it's nice) Decoration : 3 Stars(Lighting of this place was so tempting.) My Suggestion : You should try butter naan of this place. For veg lovers, try Kadhai Paneer or Paneer Tikka Masala. For non veg lovers don't miss murgh mussalam of this place. In Chinese you should try manchurian of this place. They customize your foor according your preference you can guide your waiter. Hope this would be helpful to you!

I ordered veg biryani via ZOMATO from Shan e Punjab today @ 260 rupee, they send this tiny quantity of food which is qual to a salt keeper... Hate this restaurant.. Dnt recommend this restaurant to all Shan e Punjab if u saw this plz Sudhar Jao..

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Bokaro. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing . Absolutely the best meal we had while in Bokaro. Highly recommend!
