Moreover, Vicky's attention to detail and dedication to creating a positive guest experience were evident throughout my stay. The hostel was clean and well-maintained, and Vicky's efforts in making sure everything ran smoothly were truly commendable. Shalom will be my to-go place in Rishikesh anytime in the future. Location is amazing and wonderful with the sound of Ganges at the rooms. Pricing is fair and transparent - definitely value for money. The cleanliness and hygiene are very important, not only in your room but in your washroom and SHALOM always takes care of such petty things as these are the small, little things and win the trust of your guests. The Staff is excellent , especially Vikki at the reception was professionally supportive and also went an extra miles for our help. Would highly recommend the place.
We are in the over 55 age bracket travelling about and don't normally book backpackers. Shalom staff were extremely welcoming, it is comfortable, clean, friendly and in a great location. There are sociable spaces and also areas to sit quietly and enjoy the excellent views across the valley. The staff are knowledgeable about the area and fun. We highly recommend
Room rental could be lower. And all they offer is bed, pillow, and blanket. And the price is about 800+. If you need towel, you have to pay 50 rs. And if you need lock and key for your locker another 50 rs. I feel like a bit expensive compared to others. Host is good. But price is not good
Great place right on the Ganges, friendly helpful staff, tasty and good price food in the cafe and relaxed vibe. Definitely recommend and worth getting aganges view room, as it's looks and sounds beautiful, esp at sunset .
I must say that my experience was rather disappointing. While the hostel does have a few redeeming qualities, overall, it fell short of my expectations. First and foremost, the rooms were quite disappointing. They were cramped and had a persistent smell of enclosed space. The lack of proper ventilation made matters worse, especially when the power went off. There was no power backup in the hostel, which meant that during power outages, the rooms became stuffy and uncomfortable. This lack of basic amenities significantly impacted my stay. Only positive side were the cafe which has decent food and the hostel does offer a great view of the Ganga River. The location is undoubtedly the hostel's biggest selling point, and it's why the prices are on the higher side. However, this alone doesn't justify the overall experience. Given the higher price tag, I expected a certain level of comfort and convenience, which the hostel failed to deliver. The lack of power backup and poor ventilation in the rooms are critical issues that need to be addressed. It's essential for the management to invest in necessary improvements to enhance the overall guest experience. I believe there is significant room for improvement. Overall, I would not recommend as it does not offer good value for the price.
Overall place, food, service, ambiance and staff was fantastic. Dinesh (receptionist) was super cooperative and humble. I enjoyed my stay here!
