A beautiful place. Not crowded very near to Pathankot on the bank of River Ravi. It's the junction of Punjab (India), JK, HP, Punjab(Pak).
Firstly there is no fort here so the name fort is not suitable.But anyway the palce is great for nature lover. The main point is in the sdm office and you need permission to go inside.
Place is blessed to feel three dimensional view. First one is hills view, second one is river view and third one is plain view including school grounds and fields near by. Hence I suggest to visit the place and feel the beautiful mother nature.
The fort is now called 'Kile waali Mata Mandir' and the at the name of fort there is only one wall left...it is located at the T point which connect Dam site, Sujanpur and Shahpur village. In the temple Lord Krishna's Mandir is builded. There is a notice board outside the fort which explains the history of the Fort and the Kings and Mughal 's fights. All I want to say it's a good place for family.
Complete serene pkace to visit. Though not much is there to see but its a fantastic place to unwind, sitting, looking at the natural beauty. There is a guest house where we can stay with per day room rent of 500/- Rs. Damn neat and clean, warm staff. Shahpurkandi damn is under construction currently and once its completed, the water in the river will be a mesmering experience to have.
The sight is just amazing. The temple is definitely a must to visit. This place tells many stories too. There is a place like around at a walking distance there is point from where Jammu is visible. So beautiful. You really get a nature talk. Treat to eyes. Once you go, you.ll never ever forget the sight.
