Beautiful memorial of Freedom Fighters of 1857. Very well crafted statue cluster has been installed. A red stone tablet displays names of slodiers who laid down their lives for future generations to be free of foreign rule. Hats off to them. I would like to say that our heritage should not be tampered with as it is our duty to preserve it.

We went for an educational visit. Had a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend to people having interest in our country's history. The museum has various beautiful statues and our ancient information. If you're in Meerut, don't miss your chance and visit this place. Thankyou

Government Freedom Struggle Museum, Meerut was established in 1997. It is located in the Shaheed Smarak compound on Delhi Road, about 6 km north-east from the city railway station and at a distance of about 200 meters from the Delhi Bus Station. Visitors can stay in various guesthouses, private lodges and hotels. The Museum's main aim is the collection, preservation, documentation and exhibition of cultural property and to make it available for educational activities as well as for creation of awareness about our glorious past.Some postal stamps, pictures, post cards, memorial coins related to the events of 1857 and latter coins are also in the collection of the museum. The museum is in the developing stages and efforts are being made to collect more specimens.

Shaheed smarak , the pride of Meerut. Bit now occupied by lot of unwanted elements and encroachment all over. Goverment has tried but still not that impressive

This not the actual sahid smarak this is only a park . Please don't be fooled. There is noo museum. Only a park whoes gate is closed you can't even enter it.

The place is dedicated to the freedom fighters and martyrs of the first war for independence of India in 1857. The lush green compounds are peaceful and well kept. There is a Shahid Stambh that is located in here along with a museum. Inside the museum there are preserved artifacts and items which hold relevance in retelling the story of the struggle for independence. There are two galleries inside this museum, depicting paintings and depictions of the revolt of 1857.
