We were taken here by our bus service provider for Atari border visit as a commission and referral plan. We weren't aware of this fact. After entering we had to order something out of embarrassment. So we had 1 masala dosa and 1 plain dosa. It was utterly bad and tasteless. Moreover seemed old stocj batter. We were charged 310 which is way higher than it's quality and quantity. Highly not recommended at all. Whoever visiting be careful before entering here. Atmosphere and ambience is nice and beautiful. Thanks for your not so good service.
First thing is that they have direct setting with the bus provider....and a representative from the hotel will be already waiting for u to scam u. He made us go through vacant parking instead of main road with lots of shops, good strategy by restaurant. And when u enter the restaurant...everything is overpriced as compared to quality of food. In the end they make u ...write good reviews mentioning their names. So u can guess how this place have so many good reviews. Yes, u r right you have to write good review before paying the bill, which is a tradition here, i think. I agree its is ok to charge high in such a place near border but they don't just stop there, in the end they will add GST, CGST, SGST, and service charge and make it even more pricer. The thing is u can find a lot of alternatives outside and skip shahi Quila, which is just a scam and save urself some bucks and thank me later.
The restaurant was amazing taste was good and hospitality of ms. Roop and Ravi was very polite and professional. Wagah border my one of the best experience.
Food was great and service was even better. One of the staff named Nidhi Kaur helped us in selecting what to order and how to place an order with coupons. She even got us our food to the table which was really helpful as we were too tired after roaming the entire day. The live music was also good. The choice of songs made us sit longer. Highly recommend this place for snacks if you are coming to Wagah border.
Visiting the Atari - Wagah border should be on your to do list if you are visiting Amritsar. It's about a 45 minutes car drive from the main city. If you are driving there for the first time and depending on Google Maps, kindly type Atari and not wagah to take you through the fastest and best route. Things to remember: carry an identity card (they usually don't ask for one but it's good to have it on you, just in case) , Ladies-handbags are not allowed so make sure you don't carry one , try to be there at least by 2 pm to stand in line, cause it gets really very crowded and the seats fill up real quick, take care of your kids and your belongings , as its really very crowded. The best way to enjoy is to get a VIP pass. You sit real close to the gates and hence get a better view of the entire ceremony. The ceremony starts by 5pm sharp. They start by playing patriotic songs. Sometimes they call kids and women to dance and to wave huge flags. The ceremony ends with the flag being brought down and the gates close. Snacks and water are available to buy in the stands. There is a toilet in the parking as well as the center, though they aren't that clean. Beautiful experience. A must visit place for every Indian. The energy, the feeling, the emotions, the atmosphere, everything was so powerful at this place. Do not miss the evening ceremony and please ensure to be seated inside before 4:00 PM, else you might end up standing somewhere with a poor view till 6:00 PM. In order to get a seat by 4:00 PM, you must reach the entrance gate atleast 30-45 minutes prior to that. And do not carry any bag with you. Had the unexpected pleasure of attending the flag lowering ceremony here with several Indian friends while on an Intrepid Travel tour. The patriotic spirit was contagious and we were all caught up in it. The sergeant at arms acted like a cheerleader and revved up the crowd. It was great fun to watch all the people cheering. Impressive turbans on the soldiers. Overall Experience: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5
Food is good in taste, price is also reasonable and the staff is too good. Interacted with Miss Nidhi in staff during taking food. Friendly & polite in nature. I recommend to having food or fast food here.
