Shahi Hamam of Queen Mumtaz Mahal burhanpur - Historical place in Burhanpur - Burhanpur, India

This Hamam or bathroom is part of Shahi Fort on the banks of Tapti River. Originally built by Faruqi Sultans and further developed by Shahjahan when he was governor here. Hamam was specially built for his beloved queen Mumtaz. The 'tub' could have rose petals or Khas for aroma. There was arrangements for supply of cold and hot water. For the visit to Hamam no separate ticket required as it's included in entry fees of main fort.

It is okay, it doesn't look maintained although there is a small entrance fee to enter the place. Overall it is a beautiful place, good view of Tapi river (although I wish it was clean and maintained) and nice place to enjoy sunset.

This is entranced with shahi fort itself. Nice place to visit once and do photoshoots.

This place is situated in Burhanpur.Unfortunately the place is in ruins. You can still see the intricate designs on the wall that is fast fading. No proper caretaking. Lots of damaging Graffiti on the wall by locals.They charge INR 25 for Indians and INR 300 for foreign tourists. The Tapti river is parched and dirty. The only click I deemed to be right is during sunset which is posted below

We can only imagine how luxurious this bathroom was. You can visit it with Shahi qila ticket. You don't need to buy another ticket.

An huge humam bath of shahi qila on the bank of tapti river. The humam have stone structure , beautiful carvings and it was hot and cold water supply system also in the ruin of queen.

Best place to visit and to learn about History

Nice but require som some repairing work.
