SH LADIES HOSTEL,THELLAKOM - Working Women's Hostel in Kottayam - Kottayam, India

Rooms are very neat and clean. Single, double and triple sharing rooms are available. Attached bathroom facilities for each room. Very expensive as compared to other nearby hostels. Secure and peaceful ambience. But mess food is very pathetic. Everyday they used to serve kadala curry/peas curry for breakfast, fish curry/egg and pickle for lunch ,dhal curry/resam and pickle for dinner. Same menu food for years..... Moreover quantity of food provided is also very low. Except food it's highly secure place for students.

A pretty peaceful stay i had in Kottayam .I had chosen their two sharing room for stay and it was very clean.Good ventilation and other facilities,easy accesss for transportation etc.Don't know about their food and mess because i didn't opt for food here.Overall it was a good stay for me and the convent sisters was also friendly.

I lived here for 10 months. The room, facilities are OKay with attached bathroom.But the food is really bad. They provide chicken, fish and egg but that tastes very bad and not properly cooked. Also they just gives a spoonful curry for dinner and all. I don't know how to eat food with that just spoonful curry. Moreover, the most intolerable thing is, sisters will switch off the main almost every time to reduce the current bills. And when I asked about the current, sister says for hostel only single phase connection provided But many a times, when I called the Kseb to enquire about current, they used to say that there is no power cut & may be main switch had dripped off.Most of the days & nights here, are battling with mosquitoes.Also, as this institution don't have proper waste management system, the institution head warns that don't order online products come in plastic covers and bags. I don't think it's possible, because even the food parcels & online products come in plastic covers only. They should have to find better waste management way other than forcing to not order products. They are charging high fees so the institution should take appropriate steps for waste management also. I have lived 6years in hostel, but never see such typical rules anywhere else I stayed before,there all only the problem with food. But here at this hostel, everything seems intolerable.

I lived here for 4 months. Food is not really good. Every day they serve the fish curry and achaar. The room was nice with a big bathroom. The hostel is clean and has a garden too and friendly nuns. Everything was ok except the food

The place is neat and clean, run by Christian Nuns , but it's bit expensive comparatively for 2 girls shared room, they charge 7500

The toilet is small but it's nice
