Beautiful temple. Beautiful Architecture and Sculptures However, it is not very easy to get there by your own car. It would be better to hire an e-rickshaw. It would be better to go in the evening. A lot of dust comes from the windows due to which the shine on the walls is fading. it should be noted.
Bhandasar Jain Temple Bikaner Jain temple is one of the oldest temples in Bikaner, and was built in the 15th century. It is decorated with mirror work, frescoes and leaf paintings. The temple is built of red sandstone and is divided into three floors. One can see the skyline of Bikaner by climbing to the topmost floor of this temple. It is believed that the temple was made with 40,000 kilograms of ghee instead of mortar, which locals insist seeps through the walls on hot days. kanerExplore BikanerTravel Tip in BikanerLocal Expert in BikanerCompare Packages in Bikaner BikanerExplore BikanerTravel Tip in BikanerLocal Expert in BikanerCompare Packages in Bikaner Navigate Share Bikaner Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple Open Time : 05:00 AM to 01:00 PM;05.30 PM to 11.30 PM Entry : free Address : Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple, Old Bikaner, Bikaner, Rajasthan, India More Travel Tips from Bikaner Kote Gate Skybird Water Park Junagarh Fort Chotu Motu Joshi Cafe Green Hut Lalgarh Palace Rampuria Haveli Boating in Gajner Lake Pokhran Fort Bikaner Camel Festival Why to visit Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple The Jain temple in Bikaner, dedicated to Sumatinathji, the fifth Jain Tirthankara (founder of the Jain religion), is an architectural masterpiece built by a wealthy trader Bhandasa Oswal in 1468. The red stone of this two-story Jain temple is adorned with yellow stone carvings and colourful paintwork. Antarala, an Ardhamandapa, a Garbhgriha, and a Mahamandapa are all part of the temple complex. The pillars and walls of the'mandapa' and 'pancharatha' are covered in detailed murals with gold leaf patterns. It's shocking to learn that the merchant built the temple with 40,000 kg of "ghee" instead of mortar, which drips from the walls under intense heat. Lord Sumatinath's idol is wonderfully fashioned out of white marble and sits on a silver throne. The priest of the temple is very welcoming. He is also well versed in more than 10 languages and communication is very easy. He will tell you more about the temple and its history. The architectural brilliance of the temple is displayed right from the entrance gate.

The internal architecture is very pretty and well-designed. The temple is decorated with mirrorwork, frescoes, and leaf paintings. The temple is built of red sandstone and is divided into three floors. It was believed that during the time of construction of the temple clarified butter was placed below the temple. It is one of the oldest temples in Bikaner. Parking facility available.
Ride to the temple was itself thrilling in car as roads were small. Will recommend to use local auto to reach there. Beautiful temple and beautiful history behind it. Forget to click the picture but there was peace serenity and mesmerizing experience
It was between my hotel and another place I wanted to see, I asked where to take shoes off. They were polite and left me to my worship. There is a story attached to temple and I need to look it up. I was a peaceful 20 mins, remember to make a donation and be respectful. God bless
Absolutely must see in Bikaner! beautiful well-maintained Temple.
