Serene and clean water. One must visit it early morning as it is also a sunrise point. It's calm and the beach is clean. It's also good for a morning walk along the promenade. It's very close to the French colony. One can walk down there.
The beach is not very clean as they doing fishing here.... but my son loved the beach as he could see variety of fishes and crabs caught by the fisherman. Good place for surfing. If you like to collect sea shells, you will get unique ones here...... but the sand is dirty at places with even glass pieces so be careful....
The name of the beach is very apt. It is a beautiful beach. The location of the beach is somewhat desolate. The maintenance of the beach needs attention. There is lots of garbage on the beach and dead fish in the water. Surrounding could be improved too and more activities can be added. Fishermen keep their boats at the entrance of the beach. Overall a decent experience and since I visited in late afternoon I experienced silence there.
It's a clean beach and highly recommended. The view from the stone pier is nice. Various water sports available including surfing. The only disappointment is it doesn't have a shower room. So keep that in mind before getting in the sea water(seabird hotel provides a bath facility nearby).

One out of the many beaches of Pondicherry. This beach lies right in between the rock/promenade beach which is very close to the Pondicherry town and the Auroville beach which is close to the Auroville township. The beach is quite clean, and has a decent number of people visiting it even on weekends. It's not too crowded which makes it better. The path to enter the beach is a bit narrow, so be careful while entering or parking the 4 wheelers. You will find a lot of fishermen around. Many fishing boats are stalled here and they go out fishing mostly at sunrise. Speaking of sunrise, you wouldn't want to miss the sunrise from this beach. It's a spectacular view and an extremely calming experience. You can also chill and relax at the beach, take a swim. It's pretty safe for swimming and surfing. The best time to do it would be early morning or during sunset. The beach closes at 6pm. You wouldn't find many shops around. There are also a few surfing schools here, so you can learn surfing if you are interested. We also did swimming here in the evening and it was great. The water is not totally clean but better than a lot of other beaches in India. There are also a couple of rock lined structures along the beach which you can hop onto and get amazing views of the beach or just sit and relax. Be careful not to slip and tumble down into the sea.
After a self analysis of concentration on self at Matrimandir this serene beauty of nature also offers the pros training the surfing in the Bay. Unfortunately the rains disturbed our trip but the disturbance wouldn't disturb anymore since the plan is to enjoy the nature and not what I wanted to.
