Francis and Jacqueline were great hosts. Food was some of the best that we have had in India EVER - and I have had many trips to India over the last 20 years - it really is something special. Friendly local family that couldn't do enough for us - made us feel very welcome. Francis is a great guide, very knowledgeable, kind and genuine - I arrived with a broken foot and he did everything he could to make sure we were well looked after while there, including helping with our bags all the way through the train station and waiting over 40 minutes to help us get them onto the train on the day we left. Great chatting to Francis and hearing about his plans - he is so passionate, I am sure he will make them happen. Accommodation is in a great spot, simple and very clean. highly recommended.
Catch the Sea from your doorstep! * Francis and Jacqueline have been great hosts. We really enjoyed the place and the rides offered by Francis. He told several stories about the place and were really interesting. Francis took us to the lighthouse and also to the beach, where we could fly the kites. My son and wife really enjoyed the kite flying and beach in the evening. Food was well cooked and tasty. Francis took us to the Monroe Island and took care of further arrangements for our next travel as well. He did way beyond the expectations. I will be certainly sending my bunch of friends to enjoy the attention! :) * Beach next to the resort is little dirty by nature, otherwise rest all, just to sit and relax on the beach side, it's a great place.
Right to it's name the stay is exactly on the beach, just 10 meters away is the sea literally. Cute small place for our need. Great food. Great value. We 4 friends stayed for a weekend and the host hospitality moved us much. Most beautiful family we could find these days.... If u r looking for a luxurious stay u may be disappointed. Else it's a perfect place. Just a bit away for kollam. But if u have your own vehicle is not an issue at all, if u don't, Mr. Fransis, owner of the property himself sends u a pick up vehicle.... Little isolated, but totally felt home. We all really had the best and relaxing times. We go again sooner. Highly recommend.
What a wonderful place to be in..... Absolutely amazing n marvelous. A lovely beach n sea view to wake up to. My happiness knows no bound. Never thought that a home stay could bring more comfort, joy, hospitality than a luxurious hotel. Visited with my family n dog (strongly recommend for pet lovers) Counting the days for the next vacation will definitely visit again. Francis is a gem of a host... U would love him for sure, a must visit place
Cutest cottage with amazing view, delicious food, Francis and Jacqueline are amazing hosts... Francis is an amazing tour guide who has shown fantastic things which are not the usual touristy things. Jacquelines cooks amazing food... beach has huge waves so need to be careful of riptides...
I cannot improve on L Mitchell's review! We had a wonderful stay and are enormously grateful to Francis and Jacqueline' for their hospitality, which included meals and sightseeing opportunities. We were met at the railway station and taken to the ferry terminal for our onward journey. This was a wonderful experience.
Our stay at Sea Castle Beach was nothing short of wonderful. Francis and Jacqueline are lovely people and superb hosts; they will do anything possible to make your stay memorable and the amount of love and attention we received was completely unsurpassed. The room is well decorated, clean and comfortable. The bed is large and, although we didn't see a single mosquito during our stay, a tasteful net is provided. The bathroom is clean and hot water is available at the flick of a switch. We were given a WiFi router to use for our stay and told "there is loads of data, please, us it!" - well, we didn't have a chance as we were so happily busy! Jacqueline is one of the most accomplished cooks I have had the pleasure of meeting and she served us delicious, home-cooked Keralan dishes each day. The food was made with local ingredients and was both delicious and healthy-feeling; starting each day with such an amazing breakfast was a real treat. We were given local fruits (who knew so many types of banana existed?!) and Francis brought us beer in the evenings. We ate on the veranda, a beautiful spot overlooking the ocean with unobstructed views. One day we were treated to a pair of dolphins that swam past. The fishermen come and go throughout the day and it is a joy to watch them in their boats. There is a small rooftop terrace that can be used for sunbathing or yoga. It is a joy to practice the latter there, overlooked only by the coconut palms and the birds. Also, last but not least, Francis drives a rickshaw and has been taking tourists off the beaten track for years! He took us on a beautiful backwater tour during our stay, and to several temple celebrations (with elephants and Keralan art forms). We were the only travellers in sight! I cannot recommend this guest house highly enough. Come for the food, the peace, the experiences and the company.
Francis and Jaquenline are absolutely lovely people, who will help you in whatever way they can. Jacqueline cooks incredible local food, and their beautiful home sits on a small local fishing beach, with daily dolphin sightings. A little piece of heaven and a place I will never forget.
