Sawant Restaurant - Goan restaurant in Verna - South Goa, India

Sawant restaurant is a decent place serving regular and special Goan veg/ non veg thalis. Ambience is decent not fancy though, Serving tasty food with sufficient quantity. The best part we experienced was the quality of fish ! having visited in monsoon season when fish isn't available freshly we were glad to taste some tasty modso (fish) thali. Do visit if craving for some home made fish / veg thali at Verna industrial estate

Stopped here for lunch on the way to margao..... Had a chonak thali....which was Excellent....the fillet of chonak in the thali , trust me is the size most restaurants serve you when you order a chonak a la carte. The thali here comes with just the right amount of rice ( u can ask for more at no extra cost ), fish curry , bendi bhaji, Kismoor, salad, pickle and a nice slice of watermelon. Mr. Sawant the owner serves you personally and keeps checking on you if you need anything. The best part is the place is air-conditioned and very clean.

A good place to get authentic fish thali. It is a small 5 to 6 table outlet with amazing thali system. You get only thali, you can also get fish fry separately. Parking is on roadside. There is no toilet facility as it's a small outlet. Service is quick. Staff is less but it doesn't hamper with their service. If you really want to try whole meal, this a good place. Fish was fresh, prawns were big in size. The vegetables were also well prepared. This outlet may be 12km away from airport in Verna. Reasonable prices and rice plate is in good proportion.

Very clean AC restaurant. Can fit about 20 prople at a time. Quick service. Chonak and mackerel thalis were good.

Small eatery offering authentic Goan seafood thali. We had to wait to be seated. The Lunch is served in a clean and neat steel plate. We asked for prawns platter and it came with rice, a fish curry, pickle, salad and a vegetable fry with a generous serve of big prawns marinated in rava masala deep fried with shell. They also served solekadi (Birind ka rasam), a spicy tangy refresher. We also tried their special Modso rava fry. The food was drooling, tasting awesome, spiced to our tolerance level. The pricing was also reasonable. A must try place while in Verna Goa.

If your around vern church just close to it is this small but great outlet for proper goan homemade food specially fish thali. The regular fish thali is good but the special fish thali will cost you about Rs. 250/- but the quantity and quality of food is very good. The taste of the food reminds you of proper goan home cooked meal and leaves you satisfied. The place is usually crowded with office goers during lunch time so one might have to wait for some time if visiting during peak time. They don't offer parcel takeaway service so you have to eat fresh at the restaurant. Overall a good thali place
