Satpura Dam - Featured Reviews (178)
There are some places which are hidden from mainstream crowd and that's probably the reason why they are still so unremarkably beautiful. This place is among those spots. Except from the local people, no one bothers to visit here. It's deep in the nature, can't be accessed if you don't have your personal vehicle as no public transportation available here. No tourism active here. I was lucky enough to visit it with my love in our Valentines week.
Satpura Dam , Dam on river Tawa lifeline for creatures and a huge source for energy generation. This dam was constructed in early 1960s for the main part for water supply in Satupura thermal power plant. Some facts and information about this dams are as follows :- 1)depth of this dam is about 1200 ft. 2)This dam has 14 gates. 3)This dam is in between Valleys of Satpura and this area comes under Satupura national park. 4) This dam(in fact Satpura power station) was constructed under Second five year planning (1956-61), which was mostly focused on development on Public sector and Rapid industrialistaion. I think this is enough :) Now talking about the scenic beauty and the Environment around it this is very peaceful, calm, wonderful and best place for picnic. This place can be a good picnic spot but there is no availability of water and food as this dam is in between forest and 7 km away from Sarni. On the way to dam you can best clicks and video shoots of Sarni's natural beauty. There is much to explore and find in Sarni if one wants to, and Satpura Dam among one of them.
