Visited a place for head shaving event. Boiling water is available for price.
Pond is not maintained properly and it would be nice if they keep more trees and plants.
This pond is almost half km from main temple.

A lake of sacred and divine, properly maintained by Thirupurankunrum municipality as the place is considered as holy for the Murugan devotees !
This pond is considered as the birth place of lord Murugan as six babies in Six Lotus flowers. All devotees came here for taking holy bath but there's no even a single toilet facilities for them. Also most of the locals are going toilets all around this pond located inside madurai corporation limit. When rain comes all this sits will flush into this pond. The Hindu temple ministry has to clean the pond atleast once in a month. Please clear the dirty area between the two rock mount near to sanmugar temple and make a kid's park/ nandanvana to avoid using as toilet area.
