Saravana Bhavan - South Indian restaurant in Chennai - Chennai, India

Food was above average. Service was good and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. The hotel ambience was improved with better air conditioning (compared to my earlier visit, months ago) They need to improve food taste. The sambhar in 14 idli was not hot, raitha was not given with parotta kurma, vanilla milkshake tasted more like milk than the vanilla (not good)

Good ambience and comfortable seats. But not worth the price we paid for the food. Dosa was basic n good but their chutneys were horrible, although sambar was good. And there's literally no difference in normal masala Dosa and special saravana masala Dosa except it's price which is more than twice. Only nice thing is the place was hygienic and good quality of food.

Food was really good but the taste from 6 or 7 years back saravana bhavan is missing somehow... service was not timely and very poor response today may be due to past 09:30PM.,. we always like to have it from Hotel saravana bhavan...

Horrible experience. They told us to wait for 20 minutes to get dosa or meals which forced us to order paav and other items which took 1 hour to serve. Paav and fried rice were good. Mixed vegetable porotta was below average. I wont recommend to visit this franchise again. Saravana's other franchises are good.

The reason for the one star is, I have been trying this restaurant for three consecutive days to find at least something worthy. The place is in the center of the city. I strongly feel the quality of the food must be improved. Very low quality. Not so well cooked chappathi. And very bad service. The service is so bad that the bill will be faster than any food you order. My hungry stomach with an unfulfilled heart made me type this.

Good veg meal-175 rs They give unlimited rice , sambar , rasam everything But you cannot eat too much there easily becomes full

This branch is now fully air-conditioned. If you get down from the Ashok Pillar Bus stop, you can head here straight for the breakfast. You have clean washrooms too where you may refresh. Overall, this is at a good place. I needn't say anything about the food, it's stock Saravanabavan and iy will taste decent. Great quality, but no matter what you eat, the quantity is not sufficient.

Ghee roast paper dosa was awesome as always...can give medu vada a pass even during the best of days though..Sad to see an iconic place shutting down branches one by one
