Saragarhi Memorial Gurudwara is at Heritage street Amritsar. It is a tribute to Sikh courage and bravery. It has been built in the memory of 21 sikh soldiers of the 36 Sikh regiment under british army who fell in heroic defence of Fort Saragarhi in Waziristan on Sept12,1897 while defending the Fort against an attack of ten thousand Pathans. Salute to that twenty one Sikh Soldiers who sacrificed there lives while defending the Fort.

Saragarhi battle is one of the famous seven battles in the world and this gurudwara is built in the memory of 21 Sikh martyr , who fought against 10,000 afghans. This is best and must place to visit .

This gurdwara is situated near golden temple parking. It's very close to the golden temple. It commemorates the Battle of Saragarhi, where 21 sikhs stacked heavily against army of 10000 enemy tribesman. Movie Kesari is based on the same storThose brave sikh soldiers continued fighting till their last, giving enough time to nearby forts to prepare for attack.This battle is one of the greatest last stands in history.

The historical story of this became popular after the serial "21 sarfarosh" and became even more popular with the movie "Kesari" starring Akshay Kumar who played as Havildar Ishar Singh.

Nice place to stay for budget tourists and for people visiting golden temple. Reception desk staff is quite finicky about your check out time. You need to checkout by 1200 hrs. They take INR. 1000 as rent and INR. 1000 security deposit (refundable only if you checkout at 1200 hrs or before) in advance. Haveli has a 24x7 eatery on ground floor. Food is good.
