Saptapadi Restaurant - Restaurant in Kolkata - 24 Paraganas North, India

Themed restaurant, based on the old famous Bengali movie Saptapadi. A variety of Bengali cuisine is available (both veg and non-veg). Staff behaviour is also good. It's not a huge restaurant but not too small and congested either. The food was really good and tasty. Non-veg items were not very oily or spicy. The price was ok compared to the quality and quantity.

The first thing to remember in this restaurant is that it is spread across two floors. The al carte menu is served on the ground floor & the buffet is served on the 1st floor which also acts as a banquet hall for parties. The access to the 1st floor is through a narrow iron stair with steep stairs. It is very difficult for the elderly or people with mobility issues to climb the stairs. We had tried their special Bengali buffet, hence we had to navigate the stairs. If we overlook the stairs, then the ambience & decor is good & quite bright. Coming lastly to the food, the food was authentic Bengali dishes with rich taste. Though we were the only customers having buffet that night the food was not hot but they refilled once it was brought to their notice. The food was tasty & the menu well curated, though the welcome drink having chilly was a bit of a letdown for us. Other than that all the other preparations were yummy. The pocket pinch is a little on the higher side.

We visited this place in Nabami. We were lucky to get seats for 5 people. If you are visiting this place on weekends or during the festive season, try to reach here by 12-12:30 pm. We reached here by 12pm and that's why we got the seats. The ambience was nice. One who is looking for a Bengali essence, should come here. It is beautifully decorated with Patachitras. We had a buffet here. In non-veg, there was Bhetki batter fry, Lanka Murgir Kabab, Kolmi Chingri Piyaji, Bhetki Kalia, Mutton Kasa, Chicken curry with Plain Rice and Misti Pulao. In veg, there was Sukto, Dhokar Dalna, Alur Dum, Moong Dal, Beguni, Chanar chop. Prices were Rs 1200+ per head inc tax. The mutton was overcooked, so that is one part I didn't like. Otherwise the food was good. They served Litchi drinks and Fanta as a welcome drink. For dessert, there was custard, sandesh, chitrakut, rosogolla, chutney and papad. My overall experience was good. It is worth the price.

Saptapodi is one of my go to places to have proper Bengali meal. Recently went there to celebrate my friend's aiburobhat. The celebration thali was beyond my imagination. The quality and quantity of food is so amazing Don't forget to try their refreshing Lichu Lonkar Sorbat and Kacha Aam er Sorbat

Good place for authentic bengali cuisine. For authentic Bengali food you must go there . I tried "Durga Puja Special Buffet" for the very first time at Saptapadi. It is located at CD-22, sector-1 , Saltlake.

Basanti pulao was not up to the mark. Saptapadir kosha mangsho was good. And kochi pathar jhol was not at all good. Starter has been served after the main course! They were more focused on serving people they know from before (like friends), but we are also paying, we are also customers there so it was like they were being biased! Because we ordered first but they were serving their friends to the next table. Anyways...... Humble request- we all pay and sit and eat there so please serve the starter before food All over it just 'OK' experience!

Today I visited Saptapadi restaurant at saltlake branch Small place but ambience is awesome Food quantity; food quality; staffs behavior ; theirservices are very good Foods are really very tasty.. Specially I recommend the vetki fish fry..fresh fish with delicious sauce..just loved it..Also I recommend chingri maalaikari; sorshe Ilish Atlast they gave us a small gift which is very surprising..a picture of us Thanku so much for the picture team Saptapadi..
