The famous female saint Sant Janana was born here, though she spent her whole life span in Pandharpur, this place is well-known as her birth place. When she was a child she went to Pandharpur as a warkari with her parent, she missed them and lived in Pandharpur till her death. Sant Janabai constructed many Abhangas in marathi. 'Dharila Pandhari cha chor' is well-known Abhang from her collection. She was worked as a Dasi at Saint Namdev's home. The Warkari people not only of native place but also of Maharashtra like to sing her Abhangas.
