First of all, this review is aimed at the very budget conscious traveller. For those wanting ambience, exotic experience there are other places. If you're passing by towards Malda, Behrampore or Murshidabad and have an apetite for a simple traditional thali type meal or want to sample some good quality "Shorpuriya" or "Shorbhaja" Krishnanagar is famous for then this is a recommended stop. There is plenty of seating. Probably designed with Busload of people in mind. Once you settle for a thali, they keep coming back with refills for all the veg thali items. The non vegetarian plates are the veg thalis plus a plate/portion of the non vegetarian item. And then you can have roti tarka fresh from the kitchen. The sweet counter is well stocked with traditional Bengali sweets.

Good Place for various food but big problem is online payment is not acceptable here.

Good quality product of sweet if you need. Food quality is also average good. Safety is maintained.

Shanakar is a must option for lunch, tea break for people going through NH34 and crossing Krishnagar. For people of Krishnagar they also love to take a tea break. Their you will get tasty snacks like shingara. For tea you have to first buy tickets for tea from the counter. Then you have to go to the tea counter and there you will give those tickets and will get hot tea. Many tourist, travellers stop at this place for food. Veg thali, Chicken thali, Mutton thali and egg thali these are available here as thali. This restaurant is spacious and enough space for parking is there in front of this restaurant.

Food is oke type.. buses from kolkata to siliguri stops here. Food is average type. Not that grate test are not good.

Bus stoppage while you are travelling to or from Kolkata. Food are kinda eatable but not very good. TOILETS are the actual livesaver here. Iykyk

Famous sweet shop on Kolkata-Siliguri highway, close to Krishnanagar, with Sorpuriya, Sobhaja and Nikhuti to offer. Open 24 hours a day, this is a stop for long distance buses. Sorpuriya here is light on sweetness, and melts in mouth with richness of milk. Average clean washrooms toward backside.
