Awesome place to be visited in Rajasthan... Its 40 Kms away from Jaisalmar city. Just get a cab they will charge Rs 500/- to drop. You can see the full sand (after crossing some 20 KMS) and huge wind mills (for generating power in the desert). Warm and Friendly welcome from the resort people. You can go to resort (Tent House), only table fan will be available. If you need A/C then it will be Concrete walls, since its Desert you can't stay more time inside the tent between (11:00 AM to 7:00 PM), other time it will be too good. Starts with jeep safari (chargeable) and then tea and then camel safari for (sun set view point). They (camel safari) people will charge more to see better view point little far from normal view point. They will take little inside into desert, their sand level will be huge when Camel is going down in the dunes. Camel leg till knee it will go. Then live dance program will be conducted over their and they serve snacks and tea during that period. Alcohol will be served but chargeable. Nice dinner with few dishes of rajasthani style and will get butter milk (which is very good). Early morning Sun Rise camel safari also available (but we missed it) it will be chill in the dunes over there... Till 7:00 AM you feel the chillness inside Tent or outside also. Have a breakfast and leave to city.!!! Enjoy the stay in Tent.!!!

Having a look of the sunrise or the sunset from the Sam Sand Dunes will be a breathtaking view. Witnessing the ripples on the Sam sand dunes caused by the winds is also a unique sight. These picturesque phenomenons attract a large number of nature lovers and photographers from different parts of the world. The region around Sam sand dunes also hosts a number of cultural shows. These shows add a lot of value to your Jaisalmer tour as you will get a close look of the rich culture of Rajasthan. The famous Rajasthani dances are performed in these shows. The campfires and the musical nights are also an awesome experience for the tourists. Features like these make a tour to Sam sand dunes packed with excitements. There is also a number of camel cavalcades arranged in this part of Rajasthan. These tours will give you an opportunity to have an in-depth look of the raw beauty of the desert. There are a number of tour operators which offer comprehensive tour to Jaisalmer. These tours are embedded with trip to Sam sand dunes. You can book tour according to your preference. The tour will be an awesome experience for sure. However, it is best to book the tour from a tour operator which has a certain level of experience and expertise in this sector.
Sand dunes are actually dynamic natural structures. They grow, shift and travel.
Honestly the place is very peaceful. I took my own tent with Me and placed it at a peak top spent around 2-3 hrs in a place away from people and public or private transports. A camel took me up there. Only problem with sand dunes is that there are local Muslim boys approaching you very often which makes it very uncomfortable to decide whether or not to pay for their services. They follow you with their bikes. That's stupid.
