Sanctum Spring - Resort hotel in Varkala - Thiruvananthapuram, India

We have mixed feelings about this accommodation! I'll start with the good things. Pros -Breakfast was good -a/c worked well -hot water showers -there's a pool -it's close to the beach -the balcony facing the ocean is nice Cons -Stained and ripped bedding -washroom smells -the beds were very hard -the room wasn't that clean -No warm lighting -no fridge -wrong room than we booked -wifi was not good -things just felt dated and old The manager and staff were really nice and helpful but overall for the price we would not stay here again sadly.

Rooms are cozy yet very clean. The balcony doors, which provide a different feel, are the most stunning feature of the rooms. We were given a corner room with a direct sea view. There is a North Cliff market nearby. There is a pool available. The receptionist was extremely kind and humble. Breakfast buffet was fairly good, with a good variety of foods to choose from.

Located right next to helipad. Sea view from room balcony. Polite and helpful staffs. Limited breakfast but very very tasty. Lots of restaurants, shopping place, beaches just within very short walking distance. Pleased with the stay and highly recommended

Cozy rooms but very clean. The most beautiful thing in the rooms are balcony doors that gives a different vibe. We got the corner room from which we could get direct sea view. North cliff market is available there. Pool is available. Reception guy could not understand Eng or Hindi. It was difficult to communicate but somehow he managed. Very polite and humble receptionist. Overall all amenities are available in cheap within 3k per night which is great.

Rooms are decent and service is also very good. The view from rooms are good, overall one can enjoy a decent stay and the special part is it is located just beside the varakala helipad so enjoying the beach and cliffside hotels and shops is easily accessible and getting transportation for railway station or getting to the town is also easy.

I am sure the people running this hotel aren't the real owners. I paid close to 22k for one night and three rooms. What we got was a stinking run down motel, run by a few amateurs simply scamming tourists into believing something else. I was horrified of the free upgraded suite room and how it's condition was. I wouldn't recommend this abomination to anyone. Blood stained towels, broken mini fridge that stinks, bathroom stinking like public toilets, the list goes on. There's old mattresses everywhere in the corridors.

Stayed couple of days in the resort. Located at the helipad so we can easily access the cliff and beach. Swimming pool was clean and kids will enjoy for sure. Breakfast menu was limited but of good taste

I strongly not suggest to stay in this Hotel. Quality of the room is bad (and not safe, AC box is up to the water outlet), staff is not friendly at all. They do not know what is hospitality. I broke a glass and after apologize myself, they request to pay 150 Rs. First time ever I see this type of mentality. Cheapest mentality ever. One travelling agency based in Europe have contacted me about this Hotel to send clients, no need to mention my comments... Many others places are much better in Verkala. Do not waste your time and money. If you want to swim in dirty water, then go ahead for this hotel (many insects dead in the water). My son got sick due to water contamination.
