This is very good place. But maintenance is poor. This can be great . Many people don't know about it. Atleast one time should come here. There is lot of things to see. This is protected monument by GOV.
The 'Samudra Koop,' also known as the Ocean Well, holds profound reverence as a pilgrimage site in Prayagraj. Located in the historically significant town of Jhusi, this ancient well traces its origins back to around 7100 BCE during the reign of the Chandravamsa dynasty. Maharaja Pururava, during his rule, conducted numerous rituals to invoke the blessings of the Seven Seas into the Samudra Koop. This divine well, mentioned in the Matsya Purana and Padma Purana, is considered a celestial entity. The water from the well is believed to possess healing properties, attracting crowds during celestial events and festivals as they seek absolution and relief from afflictions.

About Samudra Koop Temple It is situated on a big, high mound on bank of the Ganga. It is about 15 feet in diameter and is built of big stones. The entire premises are surrounded by a stone wall. It is said that it was built by the king Samudragupta hence the name. It is also said that the water level below the well is equal to the sea level, hence the name.
