Samadhi of one of the most powerful and brave Maratha ruler "Thorale Bajirao Peshwa". This place is popularly known as "Peshwa Sarkar ki Samadhi" in local region. It is Nice and quite place. Good view of Narmada. Now have some local arrangements of food and cold drinks and tea in the area around. Bajirao Ballal Balaji Bhat was basically Peshwa (Pantapradhan) for 4th Maratha Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. In 1740 when bajirao was on a millitary operation, he had a military camp here in Rawerkhedi. On 28th April 1740 he died due to heat stroke. Samadhi was built in his remembrance by Shinde (Scindia) of Gwalior. Samadhi is built in sand stone, not decorative but still very effective and beautiful. Needs a proper road connectivity and some tourist facilities in the village. But the monument itself needs care to be taken. Little bit of genuine restoration may turn the place around. A bit of genuine restoration will bring the mausoleum back to its glory.

Tribute to an invincible warrior @ Raver Khedi on the banks of Narmada In tribute I have tried coming here on three previous occasions and succeeded in finding one or other pretext to postpone it to the next visit. This place has reckoned me,haunted and tormented, me to visit, so when I came here today and paid my obeisance I felt I've come home!! It's a place of pilgrimage, history and valor like none other. @Raverkhedi in Khargone district on the banks of narmada lies a simple monument built by his loyal general Scindia to his beloved peshva A monument to an incomparable warrior. It is a nondescript monument walled with a courtyard lined with colonnades with a central pedestal where his last rites were performed, and encrypted inside are the ashes of this brave warrior. History has seen him with myopic vision but read inbetween the lines and tales of victorious battles start flowing. Politics has tried to erase his name from most of history books yet he shines forth. Imagine a young 40 yr old general camping with troops of one lakh soldiers waiting to cross the narmada for onward campaigns of the far flung north (read attock(currently in pak)and kabul) His career spanned only 20 years yet his battle skills are legendary. Example quoted often in military history is the battle of palkhed. The country was under saffron flag of chatrapati to the greatest extent under him. By a cruel twist of fate death overtook him with sudden illness and changed fortunes of this country forever. Most part of his life was spent on horseback and battlefield. A general who never lost a battle with his legendary battle skills. Only death could overpower him. A true 'Ran mard' (braveheart of the men in battle) In remembrance and tribute. Shrimant Peshva bajirao ballal I 18aug1700-28apr1740 I bow to thee in respect
