SALT - Indian Restaurant Bar & Grill - North Indian restaurant in Bengaluru - Bengaluru Urban, India

Had buffet lunch here with colleagues from office. The food was the best and seemed cooked with care. A lot of verity in starters and delicious desserts. In each, meat was tender and perfectly cooked with the right amount of spices. Also everything was served hot directly to our table. Staff were courteous and took care of us very well. I'd definitely suggest this place for great food.

This place is in VR Bengaluru Mall, on the 3rd floor. Excellent food, great service, ambience is nice, overall a good place to have food. Recommend this to be tried, if you ever pass by, though the cost is above moderate but it's worth the price. Note : Try Banana pinacolada mocktail for non alcoholics.

Calm and quite peaceful place. Surprisingly that to Friday evening getting a calm place was unbelievable. Food is average. Liked biryani, prawn chilly, mutton gravy. However, veg stuffs are not so great, fish gravy was average. Dessert section needs to be improved, the anguri jamun and kheer was not so good, whereas the brownie was good. Another thing to note is, the menu is fixed, no a la carte, however all the items served on table. Ambience is good, liked the lighting, seating space, even the gallery view is good. Service needs to be improved, as found bit slow.

While VR mall seems to have fewer shop open i am glad to see Salt available for dining. Had been there for lunch. Sat out in the balacony so we could enjoy the view of the passing metro trains. The in side ambiance is wonderful. The food was super tasty. Had ordered the veg sizzler platter and chicken platter along with dal makani and two moctails. Great service and wonderful tasty food. We visited today for buffet lunch with a visitor from Netherlands. The food was average and service was good. May be they can improve on the quality of indian breads.

The food was absolutely flavourless - like none whatsoever. Very overpriced for the quality of food. Service was par. This restaurant is best skipped. We ordered the Tillwali Babycorn (couldn't find the babycorn amidst the fried batter), Charcoal Chicken Tikka (lump of chicken in some red marinade), Tandoori Fish Tikka (pieces of fish in some red marinade with zero flavour), Soya Chaap Butter Masala (sweet AF! Couldn't taste the soya chaap)and Butter Roti. The server was equally clueless - I asked the different between Athishi and Hariyali Fish Tikka and I was told the former is red and the latter green. Like no sh** genius - harihali is green.

It was dinner at SALT in VR mall last Sunday. I have eaten here before and their Dal Makhni was pretty good, not sure how it is now. Ambience is alright given its in a mall. Back to dinner - we ordered Chicken Malai kebab which at best was flavourless and I could taste only the chicken, onions and chutney along. I told them about it and the staff was courteous enough to ask if I wanted another one as replacement. We didn't want it. Infact to try and finish it I had to order a garlic naan. Then we ordered the Allepey chicken curry with rice - it was good Ofcourse drinks were ordered too - beer and wine. Finally ordered a Brownie and my son liked it. I have rated this joint a 3* as given that it's a high end joint specialising in Indian - food should have definitely been far better - prices are quite high too - not that I mind spending but it's not justified with what they offer. On another note when I received the bill - all items were billed plus I was short changed back as I paid cash. Now - I own a joint myself and it's only my humble opinion that if a customer has given you feedback about a certain food item and the kebab being almost tasteless - you should not bill that item as a gesture of respect- secondly - if you have billed the item as your food cost is perhaps high - my suggestion is - compliment the dessert - you don't lose much money there as a joint but you definitely gain a customer which is far more valuable. Thirdly - don't short change a customer - if you don't have 5 or 10 rupees to pay back as change - atleast inform the customer politely - but silently pocketing the change is bad ethics. I have totally become a fan of this restaurant. I visited this restaurant thrice in two weeks .. it is amazing !! My most favourite is Mutton Galouti Kabab ( it just melts in the mouth). The chicken ghee roast is also amazing..and so is the Malabar parota along with mutton rongan josh gravy. What ever I tried here is so good, also my favourite dessert is old monk bread pudding with extra old monk flamboyant shot. The restaurant has live music in the evening and seating arrangement in open as well as inside... AMAZING !!! Also try filter coffee creme brulee
