Witnessing the sunset at Salia Dam was an awe-inspiring experience! The way the sun painted the sky with hues of orange, pink, and purple was simply breathtaking. The serene waters of the dam mirrored the vibrant colors, creating a picturesque scene that felt straight out of a postcard. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike. The peaceful ambiance, coupled with the stunning view, makes it an ideal place to unwind and appreciate the beauty of nature. I highly recommend visiting Salia Dam to catch a glimpse of one of the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see!
Area is too beautiful and surrounded with greenery and hills. Dam's gate is closed but there is way to go to the place to see the beauty of this place. I can't describe the beauty of this area as nature is the most destructive player in the world. Before visiting this place, please do remember some points: 1. Banapur to Salia dam is approximately 14kms. 2. Road isn't too good however work is in the progress. 3. Road is very much empty so little care about your existence. 4. As per the words of few people this place isn't too Safe. So go with your family and friends. Maybe you can go in daylights. 5. Only one shop is there, so buy some foods outside to come here. 6. Don't carry too much cash. Overall this is a beautiful place, so Local government needs to take care of this place to offer a safe place to the tourists.
Good place to visit if you have time. This place is very peaceful & Nature lover will love this place a lot. Full of greenery. . Salia Irrigation Dam Project of Odisha, 15 kms from Banpur town under the Khordha Irrigation Division of water resources department, government of Odisha. this dam is being built on River Salia and is located amidst the stunning locales. About 25 km from Rambha and 15 km from Barakul, the Salia Dam is the most eligible location for sight-seeing and some adventurous leisure trips. The area also proves an eminent witness of an array of avifaunal varieties, both native and migrant as their winter stopover to make this area most formidable in India. There are also fisheries and salt pans around its shores.
Nice place of scenic beauty
This Dam is pretty near to Chillika Lake. At the distance about 14km to the west Banapur the Salia Dam has been constructed amidst a picturesque sitegood picnic spot. Around 15 km from Banapur and about 25 km from
It is a very scenic and good picnic spot. Around 15 kms from Banapur and about 25 kms from Balugaon. The 10 kms road just before this beautiful place was in worst condition and we could not understand why government is not minding in making a all weather road to such a nice tourist destination. It was a feast to our eyes and appeared as if we were passing through a patch of Uttarakhand forest area. The dense, green forest for about 10/12 kms in both the sides of the road makes one spellbound. It is a big water reservoir and very helpful for irrigation. Now they have locked the entry to the front side road that overlooking the dam due to unknown reasons. Some concrete pandals (pindis) have been built at the side under the dense shade of the trees for the picknickers but most of them have been half broken due to lack of proper supervision. Hope, if given proper attention by the government this could be one of the best Boating and scenic spots of Odisha.
Nice place ..a dam ...a high house point...a temple ...picnic place but unsure about the safety because of the distance from the main road to the location runs through a rough road and jungle ...saw some wild peacocks midway and heard about the presence of cat's family from the locals.
Fine place but the picnic pendis are littered and is very dirty, one needs to clean the entire area then only he can think of cooking there. Also the major disadvantage is, hardly a bus agrees to go to that place because of narrow roads, so a college picnic is almost impossible.
