Sai Mess - Indian restaurant in Sangli, Sangli Miraj Kupwad - Sangli, India

Basically it's a canteen/mes for students (as Walchand College and other institutes are nearby) but also provides food for people who come to have lunch or dinner there. Students joining on monthly basis for lunch and dinner have to pay Rs.2000 for a month and the daily outsiders have to pay Rs.75 for a rice plate. There are many dining tables and stools where you can have your food. But whenever the place is crowded it can get conjusted to have food here sitting on those uncomfortable stools. The place is clean and we'll maintained. Talking about the food, it's very good I must say. Hot chapatis, vegetables, and rice is served to you along with pickel, curd, chatnis etc.You can take as many as chapatis you want. Every Sunday there is chicken and on every Tuesday there is Egg Curry and also veg food is available for vegetarian students on those days. Food quality is good. Nutritional value is maintained. Everyday they have different menu. I must say, for the people who come here rarely, they are very happy and satisfied with the food, but for the daily visitors like the college students the food may become boring after some days, as they will not like eating the same food again and again. But overlall the mess/canteen is a very good place and you must have a visit here.

They serve hygienic but worst tasting food with neutral/NO taste. Even good dishes like chole-bature don't have any taste. I will suggest to avoid this mess . employees are polite and fast to serve . I have come across more than 9 mess but this mess is worst.

The taste of food is average. However sai mess is most hygenic mess which you can find in the vicinity of walchand college, cct, Cambridge,etc. One plus point is that the chapatis served are steaming hot right from the tawa(pan) to your plate. They charge 2000bucks for a month. You can take unlimited refills. On Sunday they have chicken thali for non vegetarians and special veg thali for vegetarians.

Food quality is worst . Lunch contain dahi vati and roti ,varan and some bhaji Dinner have roti ,two amtis and two very very small slice of cucumber. Amti don't have any test . There chicken is worst chicken i have ate in my entire life . I'm not sure they serve chicken or somethig else I never tasted chicken like this. They serve very worst quality chicken. Buy a chicken , boil it add some water and add .00001kg of masala and chicken is ready for you . Rotis are good , rice consist of grains gluying each other . Now why people go here because it is near college and you don't have to wait for anything. You can't eat more than one roti . I hv seen my friends too many times just to eat rice not even one roti . People order omlet or bhurji too many times by spending extra 15rs. It is worst mess i have ever joined. I don't remember any good meal i have eaten here

Food tastes is not so good and recurring menu on weekly basis. Costly Rice plate with limited roti. Price is hiped in city like sangli as compared to blooming cities like Pune.

I had personal visit to Sangli with my 75yrs old Father! I came across Sai Mess near the Hotel where I stayed for 3 days. I liked simple home cooked style food of Jawar bhakri, vegetables, aamatee & rice. We loved food so much we packed for Night dinner too to avoid unhygienic railway food on the way back to Bengaluru. I found their price reasonable too. I recommend this place for students and grown-up alike.

Moderate quality of food but good service.

Repeated menu. Quality more than average. But place is nice and clean.
