SaffronStays Calamondinn Bungalow - Featured Reviews (79)
We loved our stay felt very welcome. In the middle of the jungle, we loved the vibe, super nice family, and great food. Arjun is super friendly and took care of us, gave us many recommendations, organised a car and brought us on a tour of his coffee plantation. Later on we stayed in a nearby resort with theoretically way more "comfort" but found our first experience here way more unique and cosy. Just relaxing on the terrace with the sounds of the nature around was a full on experience. Thank you !
My husband and I recently stayed at the Calamondinn Bungalow and I must say that it was a wonderful experience. A beautiful heritage building amidst lush greenery, the place has all that one needs to unwind, recoup and get recharged. Immaculately planned interiors is a blend of aesthetic and contemporary finesse which entices one to explore every corner of the place. Well maintained and clean rooms with fresh linen is what was captivating. Every meal had variety and was scrumptious. Adding to all this were the hosts, who were hospitable and made us feel at home. The ever smiling and friendly staff speaks volumes about their hospitality. Waking up to the chirping birds and going to bed after gazing at the clear skies was the icing on the cake. I can confidently say that Calamondinn is a serene and loving experience for every soul who is looking for a getaway to bounce back totally rejuvenated.
It's a beautiful homestay with antique furniture, flowers, silence and smiling faces all around. Delicious authentic Coorg style home cooked food with good variety. Very well maintained and clean. A great host who taught us a lot about coffee plantation and showed us honey extraction.
Beautiful house, spotless and cozy. The garden is a big draw as well as the green coffee plantations surrounding it. The food makes you feel at home and is perfect if you are traveling with kids. Thank you for the great experience! Highly recommended
We stayed at this beautiful homestay property for two days. This is a heritage bungalow nestled among lush green forest and coffee plantations. The owner, Mr. Arjun is a very kind host. Very welcoming and helpful. The property also provides great, wholesome, homely food. If you plan on visiting Coorg and neighboring areas and are looking for a homestay, this property should be at the top of your list. You can also try out their offerings of their in-house branded coffee blends. Highly recommended!
We had a really good 2 day stay. The food is really good. The best part is you literally wake up to the chirping of birds! It's a nice place to chill and relax on your weekend off. Madikeri is about an hour drive from here. The host took great care and even helped with a barbecue setup for us. Our host was super happy to teach us a lot coffee and honey and how they are grown. Overall, it was a great experience!
I am extremely lucky to have stayed at this homestay in Coorg. This was a spontaneous plan and considering that I bumped into this homestay, I can say 5 stars is still less for it. My stay in Calamondinn was nothing short of a dream weekend, as I have never stayed at a bungalow before, and I always wanted to. The bungalow is some 120 year old british era villa which is well maintained and kept absolutely spick and span. It is very spacious, ample space for a large family to sit and chit chat and for the kids to play around within the property. There are some antique pieces that adorn this place which is quite impressive. The food served is home cooked by the proprietors who are actually living a the same property, and the taste is authentic homemade meal. Staying away from home, you won't feel that you are away after eating their meals. The helping staff is very courteous and the entire team is fantabulous!! I will definitely be returning here more often and probably the only home stay I'd ever stay at if I visit coorg again. Its worth every penny!!! Thanks to Arjun and his mother who runs the show!! Bravo!
A heritage villa that'll impress you at one glance! A must visit place surrounded by different varieties of trees. It's a place where the family offers you to relax without any interference from their end. They are helpful and kind. The staff is humble and always at your service. The points of concern are shared by them during booking. The rooms are spacious, and fully airy. They don't have air-conditioning and it's not required. The rooms were neat, and bathrooms were clean too with all basic amenities. You need to pay extra for dinner, and that's totally worth it. The food they serve at breakfast and dinner is cooked by them and was simply scrumptious. However, lunch you need to order. The property provides you with the menu of a nearby restaurant that serves kodagu specials. They also offer plantation walk, totally worth the time.
