I didn't get to explore the Sadra Fort! As my friends dragged me to the goddess Jakshini Temple, As they think, there is nothing to explore the fort! As the images given here are much attractive to visit for peaceful time.
Nice place to visit. A combination of nature & heritage You can also see Sabarmati River from the fort. It open around 7am. Nice place if you are planning for a little date with friends or someone special. Try to visit after it has rained a few times so you can enjoy the greenery.
At the outset, thanks to Gujarat Samachar and their rep. Ravi Soni for prompt attention. As the premises are under their jurisdiction, still allowing visitors is a welcome gesture. Almost 15 th century fort structure still holds its ground firm and boasts of its grandeur and historical importance. Another feather is shooting of most famous CID teleserial and a few Gujarati films makes this place more enchanting. Less known and explored, this fort is worth a visit at just 46 kms from ahmedabad. Roam around and soak in the robustness of walls, slanted staircase, horizontal pathways on fort perimeter, get to see the slab formation, well and kund inside, all leaves you wondering as built is still lasting. An overwhelming view of Sabarmati riverbed and surroundings is eye catching. Photos for ready reference. Enjoy.
Fully covered in vegetation. Due to which we were able to feel the history. The view to the river from their was also so beautiful and thrilling.
The fort of Sadra village on the banks of the Sabarmati river is still the beautiful historical landmark. History: The fort was built by Sultan Ahmed Shah in 1426 AD. It was used by the British government as a political agent camp here in 1820 for only Rs.250. The British government also built bungalows, offices, and treasury houses for the accommodation of political agents, the remains of which can still be seen today. Be sure to visit this fort when you come here.
We visited this place on Dt: 13.09.2022, Tuesday, we found an Aligarhi lock on the main wooden gate of the fort with no instruction or information on the site or online, we came to know through a local auto rickshaw driver that the fort is locked but if you want the key of the lock we have to find a certain local fellow living near a certain High-school of the Sadra village! But if you wish to enter the fort without a key you can always do so by entering through a wall-window of the fort! And just have a look at the main wooden gate of the fort, this may just fall upon you at any moment! This is a real historical fort with a history of not less than 500 years but we're really disappointed at the state of affairs locally, people of the village badly need some tourist income which this fort can provide, the place needs attention, care and vision, that's for sure, meanwhile, we journeyed to the place for hours and returned with disappointment for not being able to have a look at this fort situated on the bank of the river Sabarmati.
