I completed my 200-hour teacher training there, and it was an amazing experience! The Shala's intimate size allows for a lot of personalized attention from the attentive Asana teacher. His focus on details has greatly enhanced my learning, emphasizing safety and progress. Despite a hamstring injury, I practiced there with confidence, thanks to his excellent guidance in recovery. The other teachers are equally passionate and fascinating!

When I was here (summer 2023), I signed up for the TTC two days before it started. We ended up being two students yet the teachers pulled through with the entire program anyways. We were basically being taught private classes (asana, pranayama, alignment & philosophy - ayurvedic class got dismissed because the teacher had to attend to personal matters) for 4 weeks. I couldn't have asked for more devotion to the method! During asana lessons I practiced in a room that could spaceously fit about 14 people alongside with both the typical "yoga tourists" (whom I was one of) that come and go in a weekly rhythm and a set of steady local practicioners. A relatively small shala with, in my perception, a well established reputation for a steady, sensible method and a loving, personal and caring atmosphere where I was able to find reciprocal curiosity both with the teacher(s) and the students. I stayed for 6 weeks and could not have hoped for a better experience. Room was made for questions, legitimacy of the practiced method was reasonably established without discarding individual experiences and hinderances. I intend to come back! The best shala to learn Ashtanga yoga from the source. Chidananda is an amazing teacher, very kind and humble. He will make sure to take care of everyone, whether you are a complete beginner or seasoned practitioner of Ashtanga yoga. He does not take too many students per batch so there is a lot of personal attention and focus on proper way of doing the asanas. His chanting is beautiful, and you will walk out after each class with a stronger body and clearer mind. My practice has evolved a lot here, and made me physically and mentally so much stronger. I keep coming back.

I came here to do the TTC in October 2022 and I absolutely loved the experience and also saw the potential of how much I could still learn so I decided to stay 5 more months practicing here. The TTC is a very complete programme where you get a holistic idea of yoga. All the teachers are very knowledgeable and approachable too and you can feel they're genuinely happy to be teaching there. I thoroughly enjoyed every single class! It is quite demanding but you'll definitely see the results. The asana clases with Chidananda are amazing. He doesn't rush your practice but instead makes sure that you learn every asana properly, building a strong foundation wherever you're at in your practice. He is demanding with the alignment and effort but will never push over your limits and risk getting an injury. He'll help you go deeper into the breath and to stay focused during your practice. I can feel so much progress in my practice as well as my overall well being since I started practicing with him and for that I'm extremely grateful. He keeps it a small space so everyone gets enough attention. I've learnt much more than asana with Chidananda as he is an example of contentment, compassion, hard work, duty, kindness... One of the best human beings I've ever met, a personification of yoga. I highly recommend the TTC and the shala to everyone!

Chidananda Sir is an incredible teacher with highly valuable skills and dedication. His patience and guidance has helped my practice be mindful while also improve and work on every aspect of the Ashtanga Vinyasa method. With his guidance, one can be rest assured to have a solid foundation of practice. He is equitable and guides each practitioner with equal ardour and respect, this positive quality provides a safe space to practice with confidence and trust. The shala is quaint and quiet, which helps one tune inward throughout the practice. Humbly grateful for having a gem of a person as my teacher and being a student at Sachidananda Ashtanga Yoga Shala.

I did the yoga teacher training for the month of Feb 2023. It is an immersive, made for someone that wants to deepen their practice and understand final postures as well as anatomy and philosophy. I was new to Ashtanga Vinyasa and there is no one I would rather practice with other than Chidananda. The asana practice (morning or afternoon) both were great, the alignment was just right. Focus is on doing things safely and understanding your body's ability. Highly, highly recommend to all those looking to start or further their practice. If not teacher training then just asana and pranayama!
