This Sastha Samooham is there since so many decades... From childhood I have been going there for poojas, Bhajans, Sastha Preethi n all. Now after soooo many years after I went there to recollect my memories and also there was Bhajan on that day(Saturday) when I went. Many poojas are conducted here. It's a very religious place for all Brahmins who wish to get the blessings of Lord Sastha (Ayyappa Swami). These days North indians are also coming here. Every day morning and evening it is opened for darshan. During Sastha Preethi in the month end of December every year, after the bhajans there will be Prasada Viniyogam n sometimes Annadhanam (Samaradanai) will be there. It's a very good place for worship/religious activities. I love this Samooham
Nice community temple situated not far from lake gardens and very popular place for small events . It does get very hot inside if you are doing havan/ homams and hence cannot have the fans on . Venue has a dining hall as well for small events - food made in-house by the temple staff is very good .
Only Kerala-Tamil style Ayyappa temple in Kolkata. They perform all rituals diligently. Must visit for any Mallu and Tamilian in the city as one gets a feel of their native place here. Beautiful decoration of the temple deities (Lord Ganesha, Lord Ayyappa and Lord Muruga) at all times. The priests are from Tamil Nadu and the temple has regular visitors and devotees who are completely devoted to temple activities.
I am the LM of this Samooham. Since my childhood I used to go to this Ayyappa Temple. Every Saturday from 6 to 9 pm Bhajan. If you pray to Lord Ayyappa with faith and go to temple and pray Ayyappa wil lnot leave you. Ayyappa will fulfill all promises. Swamiaye Saranam Saranam Ayyappa.
