Remains of tippu sultan's place Nothing much to see but and historic place

It's a wide area.. takes time to visit.. People still live inside d fort.. covers part of the river island..

All that remains here are the ruins of what once used to be a palace that belonged to Tipu Sultan. As historic as this landmark is, it's now just maintained to ensure the ruins aren't ruined any further. It does make one feel sad when they realise that this place once flourished as a palace and now it's ruined, thanks to British for destroying such a landmark (ofcourse I'm being sarcastic). While there is nothing much to see here, do remember you are at a place that once used to be a palace about 200 yrs ago.

It is fine from historical purpose but not that grand similar to other palaces. Typical to places associated with Tipu - simple functional. It also shows that he never got time for these things in continuous war mode. He was more focused on making arms and ammunition than palaces.. However still worth a visit if you are not pressed too much on time.

Tipu sultan stayed more days in this fort.but now it is not in a condition.

Real palace of Tipu sultan...which was destroyed by Lord wellesley on 1803 Because the construction and design of the palace was too scientific ... And british don't want their enemy to be praised by their own engineers... They erased accounts of this palace from their history but ...fortunately french had preserved some notes on it.

Palace is ruined and they are maintaining the remaining structures .

Nothing to see here, just ruins. Can visit Ranganathaswamy temple and Cauvery ghat which is nearby.
