Ruban Yoga - Yoga Retreat Center in Canacona - South Goa, India

I did 8 days of yoga practice with Ruban as a beginner. He was a great teacher and had a lovely manner. I highly recommend trying his classes. Thank you Ruban for such a wonderful experience! I didn't stay in his rooms so cannot feed back in this aspect. Only additional feedback would be perhaps to ask attendees if they have any injuries at the start. With a cushion on the 2nd day onwards it was much better for me.

Ruban is really nice guy to learn Yoga from. I went to one class and he charged me a good price as I went in a bit of off season when he was just starting out (Though the price is way way more than what is charged at other towns in India, it is okay for Goa). I would recommend him, especially if you can afford.

Highly recommend Ruban's yoga classes. The location was very convenient, just back from the beach and Ruban was very accommodating for all levels of yoga. The yoga Shala was surrounded by nature which was very relaxing. I hope to visit Ruban again in the future

We cannot recommend Ruban enough! he is kind and professional and does not only offer great yoga classes for all levels, but also contributes to the authentic stay in Palolem. Meeting him was highlight of our trip! Ruban, thank you for everything!!

Did evening practise with Ruban yoga. It ended up being very well balanced session, good guidance and all in all lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend for all levels of yoga practitioners.

We had an amazing week of yoga classes with Ruban. The classes were really a whole, starting with asanas and finishing with pranayam, about one hour and a half of classes. We are really grateful with Ruban, he is an amazing guy. We also take cooking classes with him, and learn to do delicious and simple dishes (with ingredients available in western countries), 1000% recommended.

Ruban is the loveliest, kindest, most caring host you could ever imagine. He made us feel most welcome and our stay by far the nicest one we had in all our travels through Goa. We stayed for 9 days and didnt want to leave. Ruban is a very gentle and polite person (with some hilarious anecdotes about experiences with the tourists) and will make sure you have everything you need and more. Early on during our stay I got sick with food poisoning (unrelated to the stay at yoga culture ofc) and he looked after us a great deal, made us tea, even made me some food (delicious), offered to go to the pharmacy ... he didnt have to do any of those things, but did anyway, out of the kindness of his heart. Another day we told him about our discovered love for puri bhaji, which prompted him to cook the most delicious puri bhaji for us. We cannot imagine a better host than Ruban. There are yoga classes in the morning and evening and massages available too. Scooter rental and taxi can be arranged at lightning speed. 12/10. Apart from the personnel, the property is amazing too. The huts are arranged around a shady coconut grove, 50-100m behind the beach. The trees and gentle breeze make the heat bearable. The huts were spacious and clean with a big bed (with mosquito net) and attached bathroom, and each hut has their own porch to sit and relax. Filtered water is available, and you can make hot water in the kitchen. Power fluctuations are to be expected in this place, but we didnt mind. Also, dont come if you dont like animals! You will be visited by some cute little lizards in your hut, and if youre lucky maybe a frog in the bathroom. But the animals minded their own business, and so did we. Once, a monkey family stopped by the mango tree in the garden, which, for europeans like us, was ofc a highlight. Friendly cows and dogs may also make an appearance. For first time visitors, the property may be a bit hard to find. If you come from the beach side, just follow the signs behind Fernandez restaurant. If you come from the road side, try to find your way through the maze of the little dirt roads, and ask around if you lose your way. Or just call Ruban. We loved our stay here, and will definetely come back if we manage to make our way back to Palolem one day.

Had a wonderful time learning Ashtanga yoga with Ruban in Palolem. He creates a warm, peaceful atmosphere and has great instructions and adaptations for beginners. Would highly recommend Ruban Yoga for all abilities for a great yoga experience.
