The land measuring 200 acres was provided by Maharashtra Government in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation campus, Latur. It was originally meant for DMTC (Disaster Management Training Centre), of "National Disaster Response Force". But subsequently it was handed over to CRPF in 2007. 196 Bn was raised in this location in June' 2007 and Unit HQr was located here till Feb 2010. Thereafter, 216 Bn was raised here in July' 2010. Later on Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) started functioning at this location in June, 2011, which was renamed as Additional Training Centre (ATC) in July'2012. The Recruit Training Centre, Latur was established on 1st September '2014 vide IG (Trg), Dte General, CRPF Signal No.T.V.12/2014-Trg-XI (New Raising) dated 21/8/2014. The institution was initially under the administrative control of IG, CRPF, Western Sector and later placed under the administrative control of Training Directorate w.e.f. 26/02/2016.
