This railway station is one of the oldest and serves trains from Chennai beach, but felt secluded during my last visit with only 10-15passengers. Unfortunately,the station wasn't well-maintained.

Well, it's the oldest railway station of CHENNAI city. Very much helpful for the old and office goers to catch trains towards arakonam. Needs improvement to provide the basic amenities which will be much helpful to the old people which railway consider them as senior citizens.if it's still neglected the meaning of senior citizens in the dictionary of railways will have a different meaning.

The oldest station in Indian subcontinent and the hub of engine manufacturing. A wonderful place, if you are a photographer. This station is very near to the fishing harbourage area and has many vivid localities including parsis, Muslims and Christians. Surprisingly this is a place where people do know to communicate in both English and Hindi. But the most wonderful thing of all is the view of station as well as the harbour from the over bridge. I will surely visit this place again. My recommendation, go to this place.
