Royale Inn - Hotel in Sirkali - Mayiladuthurai, India

Hotel is actually annexed to a hospital and looks like certain hospital rooms converted to lodging accommodation. Rooms are very small and not comfortable even for couple. Bathrooms are very narrow. You can sense hospital smell across lobby. Only advantage is this place is at walkable distance from bus stand. Strictly recommended only for single travellers for a overnight stay. Anything beyond will give you a feel of being admitted in hospital.

A hospital on the ground floor and hotel on the first floor. Room service is poor. Car parking is available (max 4-6cars). The lobby was filled with smoking smell. Only decent looking hotel at Sirkazhi. Very close to the Brahmapureeswarar temple. No restaurants attached.

1. The entrance from the car parking side is not allowed to be used by guests. But near the entrance the width is so small that you cannot open doors and unload people or luggage. You are forced to carry luggage around to the entrance from the car park. I had old people and handicapped people in the party and they are also forced to walk around. The staff were just looking at a handicapped person walking the long distance whereas if the car park side door was opened it could be one third of the distance too reach the room. 2. Rooms are tiny and absolutely no moving space. A chair is provided but you can not place it anywhere. 3. The front desk is shared between hospital and the lodge. The staff are completely indifferent and in no mood to provide any service. 4. I asked for extra bed. It is not provided and they did not even know that I had asked for one between different shift people. Absolutely no communication. 5. Attached and too close to an hospital is a great disadvantage. You have to cross some of the hospital practice rooms to reach your room. Very unsafe if you are a tourist especially with the in-hospital infections increasing after coronavirus. Absolutely avoid a stay here.

Fairly new hotel hence looking very bright. Ample car parking but entry is narrow for big vehicles. Rooms are OK in size but the bathroom is very narrow and inconvenient to enter. Not much ventilation nor exhaust fan in toilet hence it stinks. Washbasin is placed in awkward position. No wi.fi. No restaurant but room service is available...Reception Staff are good. Check in and check out process is smooth..Good for 1 or 2 days stay for two adults max

Pros: 1. On the main road, near bus stand, Tribikrama temple and Siva temple. 2. Rooms are neat and clean. 3. TV with many channels working. 4. AC was good. 5. Spacious car park where more than 20 cars can be parked without hassle. 6. Security was available always. 7. Cards and GPay accepted. 8. 24 hours hot water. 9. Good vegetarian restaurants nearby. We went to "Annaiyin Vasantha Bhawan" near Bus stand, which is excellent in all respects. You can actually walk to this hotel. Cons: 1. Rooms are small, forcing one to use the bed as chair to watch TV. 2. Bathroom is hardly 3 feet, and one may feel claustrophobic. 3. No toiletries or even bed sheet by default. Bed sheet only after you demand. 4. There is a full fledged hospital in the same building, so those who may be prone to or afraid of infections should avoid. 5. Car parking entry is rather narrow, so caution is needed to drive through about 40 meters of driveway. 6. Please exercise caution while driving in and out from the road, which is usually busy with all kinds of traffic.

This is a new property hence the rooms were kept very neat and tidy. The stay was comfortable. A decent Budget hotel in the town. Can't expect more in this location. Though it was raining the whole day on our arrival, still the hotel lobby and other areas were kept neat and tidy. 4 stars to the staffs for maintaining the hotel in good Condition.

Not a place I will recommend. The room is not well cleaned, the AC is kind of faulty. But it's okay to stay here if you don't have any options. You can also look for Chozha Inn and I would suggest to keep these 2 as last options. Too small room and maintenance is not done properly.
