Royal China , located at Hill road , in the very famous Damian building on the 2nd floor. The food , ambiance and service is great ! Definitely a pinch to the pocket! But worth it all . This place is a solid choice for Chinese cuisine, although if you're accustomed to the flavors of street style local Chinese eateries, you might find the appetizers and main courses a bit bland. As for my personal experience, it was neither outstanding nor disappointing but quality & quantity was very good. I tried several dishes during my visit, but I'm having trouble recalling their specific names at the moment. I also felt this place was very expensive for three people you'll easily require minimum 5k. What I didn't like is they charge 18% GST and on top of that they charge compulsory 10% Service Tax which means you are paying 28% just tax. And if you are drinking alcohol then there is a separate GST on alcohol as well.

The flavour of the food is consistently good, but the portion sizes have been getting smaller and smaller recently. Not as good value as it used to be. Also the service is very mediocre.

So here's the thing. The food tastes awesome when you go there and eat it. The ambiance is strictly OK. The crowd is very mixed, unfortunately. Don't take the corner table. There are mosquitoes. All said and done the food is good when you go there and eat. BUT WHEN YOU ORDER at home, the food quality drops big time! The chicken is hard, the rice is cold, it almost feels that they send things from previously cancelled orders. Strict no no for ordering at home. And it's quite pricey too.

Due to a friend who knows this place quite well as he is on good terms with the owners, we decided to have a business dinner meeting where the attention was purely for their famed roasted Peking duck, as the star of the evening. Aside from the duck, we ordered the crab and prawn dumplings and spare ribs with Sichuan and dry chill sauce dressing. Every dish ordered was excellent and as expected. The ambience is of a nice fine dining restaurant and service is attentive and polite. The bill for the 3 dishes and a couple of beers ordered was just shy of 6k, so one must be comfortable to spend such amounts of money's. They also have a membership scheme which allows a diner to avail sampling of the entire menu for the sum of 1950/- which seems to be a very good deal. We had a great time at Royal China! Their Chinese cuisine is absolutely fantastic and we will definitely revisit next time.

Food was delicious and the staff here are just awesome

We had placed an order for home delivery, we already had a coupon lying around and we inquired if the coupon can be used as it had expired, the staff at Royal China said that the coupon can still be used but we will have to order a minimum order amounting to 1000Rs, just because she gave said this, we placed an order for a third dish which wasn't planned initially. The delivery executive arrived with the full order and expected us to pay the whole amount. When we showed the coupon he said that the coupon is expired and cannot be used. When we spoke to the manager he kept apologising but was not doing anything regarding the coupon. At the end since it was way past our dinner time, we paid the whole amount. This is extremely unacceptable as we ended up ordering extra and paid the full amount. Kindly look into this & revert with what compensation methods can be used. Thanks.
