Royal Castle residency - Hotel in Thavalakuppam - Pondicherry, India

Had contacted some days before and was said that room is booked and advance should be paid a day before check in. When called, they said that the prices are increased and booking is not confirmed. Blaming on other staff when they don't even know their own protocols. Please do improve the staff and stop taking advantage of female customers

This is an amazing paying guest option for families to stay. We booked this place twice and both the times we were really satisfied. The owner Mr. Siva is a really approachable person and the reception also was very helpful. They provide all the essential amenities and additional equipments like induction stove, kettle etc. If you are looking for a good service apartment in the cuddalore-pondy road with amenities at affordable prices this is the one to choose! Weekends are generally fully booked a week in advance. So plan your stay accordingly.

I am unsure why Agoda continues to accept bookings for this establishment and hasn't taken steps to remove it from their listings, despite a lengthy record of negative user reviews. This particular hotel appears to engage in deceptive practices, consistently reappearing on Agoda's platform under slightly altered property names. I had an incredibly unpleasant encounter that I'd like to outline through the following points: 1. Despite booking through Agoda, when I contacted the property to confirm the location, they disavowed any knowledge of my reservation. 2. They repeatedly inquired about the amount I had paid and displayed discourteous behavior, even resorting to abruptly ending the phone call on multiple occasions. 3. They avoided any communication with Agoda's customer service and abruptly terminated the conversation. 4. Additionally, the condition of the property itself was notably subpar. 5. My group consisted of four families, and we experienced a distressing ordeal when we were refused entry to the hotel.

I recently stayed at this residency in Pondicherry and had a great experience. The manager and helper boy were very friendly and accommodating, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. They tried their best to provide all the necessary things we asked for, which made our stay even more comfortable. The hotel is located in a safe area and is easy to locate, thanks to the boards that are put up to guide guests. The only minor downside is that the roads leading to the hotel are not in the best condition, but that is not something the hotel can control. Overall, I highly recommend the Royal Castle Residency for anyone looking for a comfortable and safe stay in Pondicherry.

Best place to stay,even though it is a bit far from the city every thing is available... If I visit again surely I will make my stay here.

My wife had actually booked three rooms for a three night stay @ Pondy. I STRONGLY DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE firstly as they claim they have many facilities. It's just a dupe!! Secondly, the stay will be spoilt & killed by the mosquitoes day in and day out. There are passages through which the mosquitos enter the room plus the surroundings are all dumping yards for wastes; you can imagine now!!! They don't provide a mosquito repellent in any of the rooms though I had requested for one on our second day stay! The AC doesn't work. The wash guns in the bathrooms are either broken nor do they work. I told Mr. Mani to replace it the next day; he promised to do so, but never did it at all. They never put an ear to anything we say!! That's their lovely attitude :( Looks like they never check anything at all even before the customer checks in. Pathetic is not the word!. Also, there are no good restaurants nearby to eat as well . You need to travel quite a bit to eat or else send one of their boys to go and buy and come!! We had sent one of their boys to buy tea/coffee every morning.. He takes double the price of the tea/coffee from us in order to go and buy.. Ridiculous!! Can you Believe, that we had to buy water here, which is a very basic necessity!! They don't have a room service boy actually speaking! Every time you need to walk down the stairs to talk to the reception, housekeeping, or any room service! The person who sits at the reception is all in all. He has to Work as an attender as well as cashier, manager etc Pathetic!! The first day they gave us a room and we switched on the AC & it didn't work at all. CALLED the reception person, Mr Mani who came over to the room and he tells me you didn't on the Power button at all and that's why no AC effect.. Then he switches on (according to him) it and goes and he says it's working! Then I kept it on for the next one hour and still no AC effect coming in at all; then I had to call him and shout at him and that's when he gave us the opposite room which again had its own flaws! Please listen, customer is paying you money and he is not a fool here!! Their wifi doesn't work at all in case you need to work from the room!! Overall, the mosquitoes enjoy their comfort here & not humans! Terrible!! Lol
