ROSASTAYS South Goa Bara Bungalow - Villa in Ambelim - South Goa, India

We have just returned from a 4Night 5 Day stay at Barra Bungalow.We were two couples and 2kids.We took the rooms in the main bungalow.Shared areas are the dining and pool areas with another 4 rooms which are in a block next to the main bungalow.It is charming and looks like it has seen some good days,but in time it's age has begun to show.This place needs some tweaks.The rooms are old,high ceilings with a four poster bed.An extra cot and mattress blocked a cupboard,no table to keep your suitcase.Very very cluttered room.Our bedroom had no natural light/air.The ac and fan helped.Trying to open the windows was hard,dusty and not cleaned.Bathrooms the showers had no pressure and were a mere trickle.Complaining to the plumber didn't yield any result.Bathrooms have no hooks and the sink is where you will to keep all toiletries for hot water,you are required to switch on the geyser which if you're visiting a beach and planning to get back -good luck.Breakfast was eggs and bread,fruit and a fruit juice.One day we asked and got some sambar and idly,we asked him to make French toast which was tasteless and bland.The omelette had no taste or flavour.They would make only when requested which is quite annoying.The pool is decent sized and we spent a lot of our time there but again thanks to the water situation we had to wait to even have a shower.Get a pressure pump,the pressure at the bungalow is a joke.Anil was the ONLY person who helped,everyone else seemed to be in some other zone oblivious of anything.The property has some great potential but clearly not managed well.Internet is patchy,locks on the door hard to close.No shops around,cabs or restaurants.A 10 minute drive to a little "town"but unless you have your own vehicle which thankfully we had this can be a deal breaker.Mobor beach and cavellosium beaches are close but have no shacks.We drove half an hour to Majorda beach and thankfully found some which with kids was perfect.Cheese a puppy on the property is the cutest,our kids and adults enjoyed being with her.She had a hurt on the paw and paid Anil some money which hopefully he will use to help her. Also forgot one day we got brown water in the bathrooms during bath.

We had the most wonderful stay with Rosa Kue, Bara Bungalow at Assolna. If you are looking to experience luxury in a 100 year old Portuguese Villa, then this is your place! Thank you to all the staff that take care of the property and guests. Akshay, Anil, Dinesh and the others for looking after us with great hospitality. The staff even surprised us with a lil gift as it was my birthday! The beach from the place is approx. 4km which is completely manageable if you take a bike on rent. For which also the hotel staff helps you out. All you need is ask them and they will arrange it for you. The villa does not serve any alcohol. But you can ask them to get an bottle from the shop. That's how we ended up enjoying wine by the pool. The entire experience was tailour made to suit our requirements. So it's a very unique experience! The pool is clean, the ambience is beautiful, some artefacts are quite old, the big wooden doors are spectacular! The common places of Villa like the Living room and Dining room are majestic. Needless to say, my husband and I had a great time. Yes and the next time we're getting our parents here!

We stayed for 2 nights and we regret that it was a short stay. We loved our stay thoroughly. The place is beautiful, well maintained and has an old goan vibe. Great hospitality, attentive staff and excellent rooms. Pool is superb, also a small library. Can have more activities for engagement like kids zone and some games and all. For food, you need to be specific with requirements and give order 1 Or 2 hrs in advance as they cook everything in-house hence service is lil slow. Beach is far from this place. Overall everything is top class. One of the best location in South goa!!!

A well maintained property at a very remote location of South Goa. The surroundings are peaceful and have a great scenic beauty. The property is well maintained and is expanding.

It's a nice Goan style house...Good service...rooms are clean...pool is a bit small but not bad ... location is also easy to find... overall a good experience.

Great and Heritage Experience at Barra Bungalow. This stay was nicer than expected. Loved the ambiance, decor, space and facilities of Villa. Decor is really aesthetic and it is maintaining the cleanliness and calmness and surrounded by green. We chose Heritage Room which was inclusive of one single bedroom and the double bed room with attached balcony. This villa has facilities of parking, swimming pool, living room and vast garden. Their chef makes really delicious food. So must try . Staff is very supportive and caring. Special thanks to Paramveer and his Manager Iyyapam for their prompt and dedicated service.
