Ropeway - Cable car station in Gangtok - East District, India

Scenic view is good, But generally crowded on Holiday's. They need to update there ticketing system, too much time consuming while you are waiting for tickets in long queues.

Gangtok, Deorali Ropeway is one of the Sightseeing points of Gangtok. It's one time visit for experience, it's within the city & it's all standing with 20 passengers at a time. This trip will be To & Fro until you want to get down at the other End, however, the charges remains the same It's good for one time experience

It was very close from the hotel I was staying in. A lot of tourists fails to explore this because they are busy with other places. I willl highly recommend you this if you are in Gangtok. You get a good view of Gangtok from here, can click really good pictures.

After taking many rides on cable cars across the country I can tell you this one is better maintained by the administration. Good safety procedures are practised here. A sufficient big cable car which can accommodate 20 persons. The ride takes down till deorali and back. The view from the car is awesome. You can see all of Gangtok and the valleys adjacent. A wonderful experience.

Must visit, good view of the city from above. Its hardly 2-3 minutes of a ride. It is located in the centre of the city. The main MG Road market is very nearby. Easily accessible location. Highly Recommended

View from ropeway is good... over the market and green hills... sometimes you feel scared looking down the ropeway. It's a quick trip. If you reach early then there is no queue for tickets. You can easily get tickets without waiting.

At Gangtok you must experience rope way located at Deorali market. This cable car journey is not included in local tour packages and this place can be easily reached by taking a local cab from any hotel. This rope way of about less than 1 km long has three entry points or stops. The lowest point is at Deorali market and the highest point is at Tashiling (below the state secretariat). There is a midpoint stop at Nam-Nang. One can enter from any point and return to same point after touching other two points. Cable car journey provides spectacular view of Gangtok market, valley and State Assembly hall of the state of Sikkim on its 15 to 20 minutes journey. The ticket fee for adult is Rs 50 and Rs 30 for kids below 6 years. One can carry a video camera by paying a fee of Rs 50. No extra charge for normal still camera. The ropeway offers fantastic scnic views of the vally. Not many rope ways exist in India so if you are in Gangtok dont miss this ride. They do not always wait until the cable car is full. But during high tourist season, there are usually long queues and each ride gets full before it starts. And if it gets full, you will struggle to get a vantage point inside the cable car unless you are one of the first to get in. there are no seats in the cable car if you get in first then you will gert advantage to grab good position for photography.

Good view but not a must try. Takes around 20mins for the round trip.
