Root Institute for Wisdom Culture - Meditation center in Bodh Gaya - Gaya, India

We spend an awesome, a week long, course at the root institute on the heart sutra. Extremely friendly staff. The rooms are simple but clean and more than sufficient. Food was great as well! Totally recommended..

After a flight from Vancouver, Canada,with several days in Delhi and then several more days in Varanasi, a long train ride to Gaya and a 3am tuk tuk ride to Bodhgaya.... I definitely needed some peace and quiet from the last 10 days and this is exactly whaat I received from my stay at Root Institute. Even though I did not take part in any Buddhist courses i felt welcomed. My room was a perfect. I found the time and place to practice my meditation and to calm my mind. The food was great. My stay allowed me time to visit friends get some dental work completed in Gaya and some much needed Ayurvedic care less than a 5 minute walk from my cabin. When I left after 12 days i was totally relaxed and ready to take on the rest of my vacation in India before heading come. I will definitely return to this wonderful center and its wonderful staff again.

Tranquil setting to learning about Buddhism in the Tibetan tradition. Lodging is comfortable, the grounds are well kept, the veg food is tasty, but do mind that this type of place is a magnet for eccentric personalities - tourists, locals & even their own visiting teachers. Theres a lot of unstable energies that come by looking for healing which can feel chaotic.

It's a quiet and small place that is away from the main road, but within walking distance to the Mahabodhi temple complex. It is opposite of a charitable school set up by the FPMT parent organization. Attended some talks and retreats led by notable Buddhist monks and nuns. Food is great and they also offer laundry services. Overall, had a memorable and positive experience at this center.

Serene and beautiful Dharma centre, a little away from Mahabodhi Temple. Root institute is fairly popular, therefore it is quite easy to get to on an autorickshaw from Mahabodhi Temple complex.

A beautiful, peaceful oasis away from the hustle of bodh gaya. Great food, basic accommodation, lovely people, excellent teachers.

Very welcoming place to stay. There's a big and beautiful meditation hall with amazing energy. The food they provide is very good, not spicy in general and all vegetarian. The place is very clean.
