Standing right in the middle of Diphu Town, this wonderfully sculpted structure sings of the courage of Kareng Rongpharpi. It is a perfect tribute to the bravery of the legendary lady who revolted against the Dimasa king, who during his era collected human milk for feeding tiger Cubs. She strongly resented when asked by the king's men to give her milk and beat them to death with an axe in anger. Knowing that this might have unfavourable consequences, she asked her fellow villagers to vacate the village and run away to a far-off place, thus saving them from the oppression and the dangerous situations which were likely to occur. This history has been beautifully immortalised through this structure.
