Rohtas Fort, Bihar, India - Featured Reviews (120)
Rohtasgarh Fort is located in the southern region of dehri about 40 km away on Kaimur range and it is 1500 m above sea level. The founder of Rohtasgarh town was Rohitashva, son of the the great king Harishchandra. The Rohtasgarh Fort is one of the most ancient forts in India. This tourist spot stands as a symbol of courage, strength and supremacy of the Sone valley. We were at this fort with a group of friends. We all belongs to dehri. It's just something around 50 Kms from our home. We go on the occasion of new year celebration. It takes two and a half hours to approach at the fort from the ground. One major attention to everyone going on to this fort - Must keep some water. Must keep some food items. Don't attempt if you are patient of asthma or like disease. Don't attempt if your over 50 - 60 years of age. Tickets - There is no entry fees to visit the fort and people can visit the fort at any time during the visiting hours. Best Time to Visit - Rohtas is situated in an area where summer season is very hot and winter is very cold. The best time to visit the fort is from October to March as the climate is very pleasant during these months. Although January is very chilly but still people will enjoy visiting the fort. If the tourists want to enjoy waterfall then they can come in monsoon though the climate is very hot and humid at this time. Thanks and have a nice journey !
The Rohtasgarh or Rohtas Fort is located in the Son River valley, in the small town of Rohtas in Bihar, India. Proximity to the Naxalite-affected areas has rendered the fort quite inaccessible in recent times. Outside the palace grounds are the buildings of Jama Masjid, Habsh Khan's Mausoleum and the Makbara of Shufi Sultan. The beautiful stucco style, with the cupola resting on pillars reminds of the Rajputana style where the domed structures are known as chhatris. This style had not been used in Bengal and Bihar earlier but its emergence at Rohtas was not surprising as more than half the fort's guardians came from Rajputana.

Historical place. To visit, very old fort, lots of things to see, it's present at the top of the mountain, difficult to reach there, but u can reach there by two means, 1st by walking or by a small 4 wheeler vehicle. Buts it's a place to see, it's a day long journey so take food and water along with you because near the fort no such food or water is available
Everything is natural.I hope you there you enjoy it's absolutely natural.I am also visit here and I again excited to go here.If you go then you also visit mata rani temple you see here real lake fall from mountain.
Fort is located at very good place and .the route is much more beatiful than the fort yes , it is true that that the route to go here is not good but the view and the nature beauty is just unimaginable and i can't explain in words .. There are many local tourist came here i mean people from rohtas and nearby districs because the area is not protected in terms of indivisual security .. If giverment try to do something then yes this fort became a tourist desination for foreigners also.. But we all know how much caring goverment we have ... And how much good we all are in taking care of our monuments ...
