Recently me and my sister's visited Rio Resort for my Sister's Bachelorate Party. The Staff were knocking our door again and again without any purpose. We got scared as we were 4 girls there. We called the owner but the owner said us to stay we will deal this later on. We were not feeling safe at all so we decided to leave on the spot. It was late night. One of their Staff also said us again to stay but we didn't. DON'T OPT THIS HOTEL, THIS HOTEL IS NOT SAFE FOR YOU GUYZ SPECIALLY FOR GIRLS. I regret my stay over here this place traumatized me.

Wonderfull place with beautiful mountain views and river view, perfect for weekend getaways the food is also good and the staff is also friendly and cooperative. The rooms were also good, Just there were 1-2 spiders in my room, other then that the place is great. They also have 4-5 ducks in a pond kind of thing, Also some cat and dogs. To summarise I enjoyed my stay.

This place is a 5 hour drive from Delhi. I Spent 3 nights here as we booked RIO Resort for my Brother's wedding. Right from the time we checked-in, it was a smooth sail. We had a great experience with regards to the rooms, the food and the service provided. Being close family, had a lot of running around in the wedding but Mr. Wahid Siddiqui (the property manager) provided huge support by always being available. He was just a phone call away and I reached out to him around 80 times during our 3 days stay. Be it last minute changes or additions, he never said NO. He expressed his concerns and suggested alternatives in times of crisis. Every guest of ours loved the hospitality of Rio Resort. Its a beautiful river side property and a few hundred mtrs away from the infamous Robbers Cave. you can literally walk there and reach in like 5 mins. So, the location is great. They also do the mandap arrangements on the river bed at an additional cost if you want to go for it. The main property has stay arrangements which are super nice. They have a separate arrangement of rooms which is around 100 mtrs from the main property which is equally good for stay. Though, the service is quite slow on that side but if you express your concern to the right person, its taken care of very well. I'm hugely thankful to Mr. Wahid and the entire staff of Rio Resort who made our experience memorable. I'll definitely recommend this venue in case you are looking for a destination wedding in Dehradun.

Imagine planning a surprise getaway for both your and your wife's upcoming birthdays. You picture a quiet, scenic, and comfortable resort with attentive service, delicious food, and a beautiful view. After a brief research, Rio Resorts stands out. The resort promises a first-floor room with a private balcony overlooking a river. Mr. Sanjeev Agarwal, the owner, personally regales you with tales of his travels, ensures quality cuisine, and even dismisses some negative reviews on Google Maps as mere rantings of "habitual complainers." Caught up in the narrative, you're ready for this journey, expecting it to be the start of an annual tradition. You drive from Delhi to Dehradun, anticipating the vacation. Upon arriving at 11 AM, the reception's unawareness of your booking is a minor hiccup. Mr. Agarwal's warm greeting and offer of a beverage seem to assure everything's on track. However, as you sit with him in an open setting, the atmosphere begins to shift. His casual use of inappropriate phrases like 'haramzade' and 'bene ka l***' and unprofessional remarks like 'this country is of slaves' and lamentations about 'employees not willing to work despite being paid upwards of 3.5 lakhs', jolt you out of the vacation mindset. As you move indoors to escape mosquitos, the air is thick with stale cigarette smoke. Conversations turn into monologues about the political state of the country, the costs of operating a tandoor and why it is not feasible to use it for only couple of guests like you (as it burns Rs. 300 of coal per hour), and more inappropriate comments like 'kuttiya' and 'pilla' -- all after a tiresome journey. Lunch, devoid of any local Dehradun flavour, is a saga of culinary missteps. The rubbery texture of the chicken butter masala feels like an artifact from another era, and the dal makhni tastes bizarrely of tomato soup. Mr. Agarwal's continuous smoking, mere tables away, remain a constant reminder of his apathy towards your comfort. The promise of a secluded retreat is another casualty. The "private" balcony, partitioned only at waist height, offers no privacy, save for the fact that neighbouring rooms are unoccupied. An unexpected afternoon disturbance is the staff's abrupt demand to remove your TV. Such intrusions, especially during a supposed respite, are unwarranted. A chat with the manager do soothe some ruffled feathers, leading you to hope that the evening might salvage the day. Tea and pakodas provide a brief respite. However, come dinner, your prior experiences made you tread cautiously. But nothing prepares you for the absence of your promised birthday cake - a glaring oversight, given it is a pivotal aspect of your visit. The morning after isn't any better. Breakfast is an uninspiring spread, further dampening your spirits. With no sign of the owner and staff unaware of the special occasion, you depart with heavy hearts. The drive back to Delhi is quiet, despite your wife's efforts to cheer things up. For couples or small groups seeking a memorable experience, based on my own, I can't in good conscience recommend Rio Resorts. One wonders how they manage corporate retreats and weddings with such a glaring lack of attention to detail and quality.
