RENAISSANCE HOTEL - Hotel in Puri - Puri, India

We stayed in Premium room, during 10 to 13 February 2023, which is excellent - large, with all necessary fittings, king size very comfortable bed, neat & clean, wash room is equally good and clean. Room service is available and staff are very cooperative. Location is a bit away from main market. If anyone love to enjoy the serenity, this is the idle place. Sea beach is at stone thow distance. However, the restaurant area needs to be looked into, specially the house keeping and hygiene.

One of most misleading hotels in Puri, the owner Mr. Amit Kumar Sarkar, didn't provide the services as per commitment. I had booked 1 sea view room but instead I got a garbage view room. The washroom was stinky. Rooms were damped. Better to avoid this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel on 03/10/22 to 04/10/22 during Puja Holiday. Extremely bad condition of the room .Room no-308. Dripping rain water from the wall and floor during torrential rain.Insufficient staff for room service..service and quality is too low for the premium price of the room. Only positive think is that the manager and few staffs are highly cooperative that's why we were able to stay in that hotel.Repeated calling to the owner of the hotel remain unfruitful. Never ever think about staying in this third class hotel.

Worst experience in my life. SERVICE very poor, LOCATION is too far. AC Not working well. Room was full of bugs and ask them for clean and change bed sheet they started arguing. Very unprofessional Staff behavior. AC Remote was missing, and AC was set to 16 by default and no way to change temperature. AC was throwing lot water vapor and lot of noise. We have 3 months baby and we asked for rooms on the same floor. but they allotted 1 room in ground floor and another in top floor. FOOD was too unhealthy, no way to take your Lunch or Dinner from outside, it is very far from market almost 2 KM. even far from light house too. LOT of unnecessary room calls for Lunch, Breakfast and Dinners. NO Sea full view, but they listed as Sea view room. Room wall was full of damp marks. I FEEL SORRY FOR MY FAMILY BY CHOOSING THIS HOTEL.

Writing this review after 4 days stay. Location : Far from sargodwar, puri market and temple. It's the end of puri, need to take auto from here to reach sargodwar paying 100 Rs for every trip. But the sea beach is near if anyone wants to enjoy only sea then it's 4mins walking distance though no sea view as there are properties in between. And the sea beach is also empty nothing to be found on the beach. Room: no room service daily had to request, damp rooms, only positive thing about room is very spacious. The toilets are water logged once a person takes bath, i stayed in 207 first floor rest rooms i don't have any idea. Power back up is good. It's more like holiday home, water tank gets empty need to ask the manager to refill. Service: the food is very very poor, very spicy and too much with masala, quantity is good. But time and services are very slow. Requested for less spicy food for kid but they provided food that had no taste , no salt with loads of masala. For early tea u have to call up manager atleast 3times. That also after 8am requesting for tea. Behaviour: the owner is very cooperative when u start to book the place, the manager Saha babu is also cooperative but overall there service here is not upto the mark as compared to other hotels. I personally want to give 2 stars.

Please read before booking 1. The gates close sharply at 11 PM and you are not allowed to enter the premises after that. If you go out on a trip or dinner you have to return before the gates close. No requests are entertained beyond that. Somewhere I felt it's more of a hostel where you are obliged to follow the strict rules and regulations. 2. The fail to provide rooms at the promised check in time. We got our keys at 8:30 AM and till that time we had to wait. But they will expect and ensure that you check out on time. 3. Majority of the items in the menu are not available. You have to order 3 hours in advance if you want to eat anything from there. If you want to have dinner at 10 PM then you will have to order at 7 PM. Beyond that they won't accept orders. Food quality is pretty much average and outside food is not allowed. 4. Extremely mismanaged and untrained staffs. The ones sitting at the reception barely know how to operate a hotel. Luckily only the bell boys are cooperative. 5. No room service beyond 11 PM. Not even a bottle of water. Strange but true. 6. You are not even allowed to heat up water for your baby. You have to get it from the hotel and the worst part is most of the times we found dirt in it. So if you are traveling with a kid beware. 7. No are no security guards or even a gatekeeper. 8. The windows are damaged and are in a leaking state. If you are traveling during monsoon your rooms will seep water through those cracks. 9. During checkout we received an erroneous bill even for items we did not consume. Luckily we found out. 10. They have a tendency to extract money for every little thing. During booking I disbelieved all the negative reviews but most of these apparently turned out to be true. 11. Guests concerns are not being looked into. 12. We were told that out of the 3 rooms we booked 2 would be sea facing rooms. But to out surprise there is another big hotel in front of this hotel which partially blocks almost the entire view. 13. For any add on services be prepared to hear a big 'NO'. Overall I belive it's not worthy enough considering what I paid to them.

Bitter experience encountered having stayed in this hotel. Reviews about the hotel given by different boarders are totally true. Surprising enough these reviews are adversely reacted by the hotel authorities, instead of redressing the boarders' grievances. There is no signs of maintenance. Boarders are forced to shift to lesser rate rooms in mid stay. Toilets fittings are broken or don't function properly. Utensils are old and dirty. Cost of foods is very high with room service charge @ 10%. This hotel is not known to local auto, toto drivers and mostly booked through middlemen. Not a good hotel for stay.

LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP. I booked a super deluxe room at Rs. 3200/- per day. I expected a neat and clean room. But to my utter dismay I found a dirty room (Room No. 106) attached to filthy, stinky bathroom with broken fittings. The towels were blood stained. The bed.. What to say, torn pillow covers and again with blood stains. The broken switch board was another scary part. I asked them to fix it, but I think it was a humongous task for them to complete within my two days stay (05/10/22 to 07/10/22). They offered to provide complimentary breakfast, but failed to deliver it with the excuse of the cook's illness. An interesting part which I need to mention is that they may take the room tarriff by phonepe but the bill of the food needs to be paid by cash. Another thing which I think must be looked into is the curtains. They are too short and light to cover the glass facade of the well lighted room. Before writing this I went through the comments which give a vivid picture of the property and I wished if I would have seen those comments earlier....
