Red Pine Guest House - Hotel in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

Very disappointing about staff behaviour.Specially Manager behaviour.We have cancelled our tour for crucial condition.They are not understandable and not refund money. We said we are going after few months later but they give us condition n not cooperative. We booked in Gwahati one hotel.When we said I have health issue that's why we cancelled our trip they are so cooperative and we don't refund our price. We booked only 500rs.They are very good people that's why they realise our problem. We booked your hotel because of Bengali person and we are Bengali also.But it's our experience when we go out of state n see this type of Bengali who use slang language and bad behaviour. One thousand matter for us.When you replied to me every body understand what is your behaviour.Who is layer n who is bad people everybody understand.Because your attitude said everything.Thank you .we don't want money but change your behaviour .

I loved the location. The view from 401 is outstanding. But one serious issue that bothered me is they got no 'shower' in the bathrooms. I had to use a mug and mix the hot and cold water.

Visited Red Pine Guest House recently on the 13th and 16th March with a group of 10 people. Located in Laban, its a bit far from the busy streets of Police Bazaar. Coming to the rooms and services, they were neat, tidy and sufficient, given its a guest house. The view to the streets from rooms 401, 301 and 201 are also good. Do happen to book these rooms whenever you plan. Few complaints can be made, firstly the absence of a proper interior dining space in the guest house as many homestays in the remote Cherrapunji also provide one. If you order dinner, Red Pine will prepare and do room service as it has an exterior dining space in the open air and its extremely limited and can be uncomfortable given the cold nights in Shillong. But food is decent, especially their Chicken curry. Another is, they do provide hot water in Geyser but within a fixed time period and not 24/7 which I felt could definitely be improved on given the weather conditins. Also if anyone planning to stay or visit Police Bazar can avoid this place as its takes 150/200 per cab to visit as the market is definitely not 1.5km from guest house but around 3.5-4.0 km (confirmed the same from Google Maps). Rest, its definitely worth a stay given the staff behaviour, rooms, and if you are looking for budget-friendly options. Would really have appreciated if the staff had been a little bit more transparent

Good Rooms. Very Neat & Clean. As a Guest House all a Basic Amenities was available. Gyser was working. Homely food. Value for money stay.

*PROS: Rooms are big, clean and well lit. Beds are big and comfortable. Bathrooms are big and clean, hot water available. Room service boys are very friendly and punctual. Love the view from the balcony. Book room no. 401. *CONS: No lift, no parking lot. Overall, I love the experience of staying there. I also love their service and management.

This is Anshuman Rathi , I posted a review saying the place is haunted 3 years back and today the owner replied to me in a very egoistic way and said that i should have stayed in 5 star. So, for your information I was on a school excursion trip to shillong and if if was for me i would have stayed in 5 star or one of the best hotel in shillong but unfortunately I was option less at that time. I called the place haunted because at night there was no light infact the hotel did not have a generator, at this price one can easily install a generator but the owner seems to be busy with critisizing all who gave him bad reviews instead of taking it into notice (not a true businessman) and there was a shuttering should from the window. When i got up at night the whole place was blacked out so almost whole night me and my friends were awake.
