Upon seeing Avalanche, we went for having Lunch and the food was totally mesmerizing!! All of the cooked items were tasted organic...Salad, Kale, home made Fulka, lamb etc!! While I do see reviews wherein people stayed in this place and enjoyed the natural beauty, it is recommended to have lunch here while visiting Avalanche.
Absolutely gorgeous! Location is amazing..feels like you are amongst the clouds. Service is great and hosts are welcoming. Wifi service can be improved though. Overall, had a great stay and would love to return with a larger group.

We spent 4 days at this property and fell in love with it. Go for it if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, great food, spacious rooms and above all wonderful hosts. This place offers excellent views of the lake, you can gaze at it for hours. There is a moderate hike which offers even greater views.
A ten room property built around a colonial bungalow from the mid 1800s run by Mr. Vijay and his wife Banumathi. They have 5 dogs - wonderful for children. They have playing cards, carrom and guitars. Gorgeous views of emerald Lake and the mountains. Delicious home food served buffet style. All food included in the room price. Their son grows organic vegetables which are used for the meals. Delicious rubarb jam. Rooms and bathrooms very spacious. Can go for treks in the mountains, or drive to ketti/ coonoor for lunch. We had a bbq and bon fire the first night. Book rooms n1 and n2 for privacy and views. If you have elderly people, then book rooms g1 and g2.. on the same level as the dining. Some of the rooms require you to climb up stairs/ gradient so not appropriate for elderly guests.
Visited few months back , the view is breathtaking. The owners are very friendly they also arranged for vegetarian food according to our taste. Would like to visit the place again sometime soon.
If you are a nature lover, then this is the place you must visit. However, there are some pros and cons. Pros : location (Amazing views) Food ( Nice homemade food) Cons: Pricey (Not worth for the rooms they provide) Rooms are not great ( don't expect luxury) Power cuts in the middle of night . No adedute heating system ( had a Terrible experience) Overall , location is beautiful but you will be overcharged just for that.
Amazing place with homely feel. Cook BalKrishna prepared some delicious dishes, some of which we never had befor. House helps Naga and Satish were great and accompanied us for great treks. Thank you for a healthy vacation amidst nature.
