Raya's Grand - Hotel in Kumbakonam - Thanjavur, India

1. Very nice, large well maintained rooms & bathrooms. While there was ample water, the shower was not functioning and we didn't have the time to get it examined and rectified as we were in a hurry to check out and hence did not bring this issue to the notice of the hotel. 2. Fresh, crisp bed & bath linens. 3. Large, well lit basement parking for cars. 4. Well staffed reception desk. Very courteous and helpful. Handled check-in and check-out very smoothly with minimal time. Also helped in arranging for a car at a good rate.

To begin with, the security guards and the staff at the reception are friendly. The attenders are polite and received us gracefully. The room is neat, and all the amenities in the room are in good condition. The restroom is clean and well maintained. In addition, they have a separate room for drivers (a common hall), which is also air-conditioned, and our driver's experience is also pleasant. The parking space is adequate. Overall, we are pleased with their service.

Hotel is clean and good for a day or two. Their room service is good and the staff are helpful and soft spoken. The only reason that I gave an average rating is the noise created by the staff in the corridors. They sit in the corner and keep talking in a loud voice throughout the day till midnight. The walls are not sound proof and the echo is disgusting. I told them once to go and gossip somewhere else but in vain.

Stayed there with Family, a perfect place for stay for family those who are in pilgrimage. The staffs were accommodative. Room are clean with all essential facilities. There is a large car parking at the basement. Centrally located property with all the temples at walkable distance. There is a restaurant with basic South Indian food.

i have stayed in this hotel at least a 3 - 4 times over the last 10 years or so. still the quality has not gone down. - nice big rooms - good bedding - good room service - bathroom is good - right bang in the middle of Kumbakonam, very closer to all the temples - food is also good

Just opposite the mahamaham temple tank, this hotel is clean and maintained well. Friendly staff who are responsive. Their room service food is fresh and served in hot pack carriers which is rare these days. if you are booking for two families they offer connected rooms. Accessible to most temples around and is a good option if you are traveling with elders.

Location: - Centrally located, 1km from station - Exactly opp to Mahamaham Rooms: - Very clean - Well maintained - Large & Spacious - Good number of service staff - timely support round the clock Restuarant: - Food was good & hygienic - South Indian food was tasty, North Indian dishes were average - Room Service was good & prompt Others: - Fixed tariff, they hardly negotiate - Tariff was on the higher side, but its fine when we account all other aspects. - No free breakfast - Prefer car rentals provided by hotel - well maintained cars, reasonable price, polite & safe drivers [In general, felt car rentals are higher in Kumbakonam belt when compared to Madurai/Kodaikanal belt]

We stayed at Royas Grand for an extended period in order to visit temples around kumbakonam, thiruvarur and mayiladuthrai. We had good A/C and hot water for shower. The staff was very courteous. Mr. Rajesh and other staff were very cordial and took care of all the needful things. The place is centrally located . The rates were around US $39.00 per day which was worth it. The vegetarian A/C restaurant Rice & Spice next to it was a very good place to have our breakfast and dinner .I would definitely recommend the Rayas Grand for international travellers visiting Kumbakonam.
