This place definitely has history behind it, would recommend to hire a guide as you go to the place. Hiring guide just at the beginning of place is easy and totally worth the money. The walk is great, has great quiet, calm feeling around. The view is breathtaking, monuments are worth the efforts. Must visit, temple inside is definitely divine.

The noteworthy Ranthambore Fort was built by the Chauhan rulers in the 10th century. Due to its strategic location, it was ideal to keep the enemy at bay. The fort is also related to the historical legend of the royal women performing 'jauhar' (self-immolation) when the Muslim invader Alauddin Khilji laid siege on this fort in 1303. The fort is characterised by temples, tanks, massive gates and huge walls. Constructed in 944 AD, Ranthambore Fort has witnessed many sieges and battles. Probably the most famous among these is the war of Rao Hamir in 1301 against the Sultan of Delhi, Alauddin Khilji. An architectural marvel, the fort includes many attractions such include Toran Dwar, Mahadeo Chhatri and Sametonki Haveli within its premises. The presence of a mosque and temple within the fort precincts bears testimony to the secularity of the Rajput kings. The Lord Ganesha temple housed here is a major tourist attraction, and it also hosts a fair every year on the occasion of Bhadrapad Sudi Chaturthi over here.

This historical fort looks awesome and provides visible context of its strategic significance. However, it isn't properly maintained and main palace inside fort is locked and not accessible for tourists. I hired a guide for Rs650 but with nothing much to show and lack of their knowledge, it was complete waste of money. There're no entry tickets and path is shared by Ganesh temple visitors. If you're travelling with larger vehicle (tempo traveler etc.) or there's rush then you may have to park vehicle at a distance and walk for few hundreds meters.

A very old yet standing tall till date, has many historical stories to tell. The entry point is very dirty though. This is inside the forest area. The view from the top of the fort is very beautiful.

Ranthambore Fort is historic, and is located on Thambore Hill, which is a part of the Aravali Range. The Fort is flanked on one side by the Ranthambore National Park. So, if one is lucky, you can spot Sultana the Tigress, in 2hose beat this fort lies. Though we were cautioned about monkeys who would snatch food stuff from your hands while visiting the fort, we didn't find any. There is adequate parking space at the bottom of the hill on which the fort is located. There is no entry ticket to see the fort. Guides are available at the entrance of the fort, who charge about 500 to 600 bucks. There are about 300 odd steps that one has to climb, which is not too tiresome. For those who have difficulty in climbing, palkis are available. There are many temples within the fort, including an historic Ganesh Mandir. One gets fantastic views of the surrounding areas from the top of the hill. If you are visiting Ranthambore National Park, them you must the Ranthambore Fort too.

Huge fort located on a hilltop. Well kept ,clean passage ways, two thred old historic temples are located inside the fort. There is a Jain temple also inside the fort. Langurs, peacocks and variety of birds can be seen there. Start early say by 7.00AM for the visit.

The fort is constructed atop a huge area, making exploring it a full-day activity in and of itself. distinct types of monuments, ruins and templates create a whole distinct atmosphere. It is quite helpful to capture the fort's map at the beginning. Think about going when the weather is nice. There is no mobile service, so keep cash on hand in case you want to buy something or a snack.

Ranthambore Fort is an attractive ancient monument in Ranthambore which must be visited by everyone. No entry fee for visiting the fort. The fort takes at least 2-3 hours to visit the whole area. The beauty of the fort is splendid. The gardens and plantations are awesome around the fort. It is situated in the middle of the jungle. Several ancient temples and mosques are in the fort. Peacocks, monkeys and other wild animals roam around the fort. The jeep from the National Park Terminal takes Rs 400 to take up on the fort and waits there until we visit the whole fort.
