Ranmal chowki" now a jain temple located above idariyo gadh. In ancient times during 13th century it was built by King Rav Ranmal whose 12 brave soldier guard this chowki and Known as Ranmal. Nowadays it's holy place for jains. The views from that place are breathtaking. You have full view of whole idar city right from there. .
Worth visiting in rainy season.
Breathtaking landscape view with a good place to take photos.
Ancient fort and marvellous story of history.
Beautiful Temple. Visit before Sunset
Very much secluded but visible from rooti rani palace, this is an unfinished jain temple but carving incomparable to other temples of this time. Intricate borderline patterns around temple is so captivating. The temple need better conservation measures to be the sustain in future, as after every monsoon a lot of tree saplings of banyan and peppal are seen growing on its walls.
Ranmal chowki is situated at idar fort. As one reaches the plateu, one can see at the highest point on the left ranmal chowki. Ranmal's chowki or guardroom , seems to be an unfinished jain temple, the building of which was stopped after the flat stone ceiling had been put on.

IDAR A Rural Tourism
Idar is a town located about 30 km north of Himatnagar and 60 km from Gujarat's border with Rajasthan. It is known for the manufacture of handmade wooden toys, tiles, its temples and various beautiful architectural monuments, including Gadh (Palace) of Idar, Roothi Rani Ka Mahal,Vajreshwari temple, Jain Temples, Shiva & Vishnu Temples and the temple where Raja Harishchandra got married, called as Harishchandra Ki Chouri. There are numerous Bawadis similar to the ones shown in movies like Paheli, etc. The market of toys in Idar is known as Kharadi Bazaar.
Idar is at the southern end of the Aravalli Range. Many temples of Lord Shiva are found in these mountains. In history, victory over the Idar state was considered as a difficult task. So, a famous folk song was mostly sung in traditional marriages Ame Ederio Gadh Jitya re aanand bhayo (We are very happy that we have captured Idar fort).
It was formerly the seat of Idar, a princely state of British India. The name Idar comes from an ancient legend. As per the legend there were two devils named Elva and Durg, who stayed in the hills of Idar. So people used to talk about the place as I-dar-chhe (meaning: there is fear), the name Idar has came from there.
Ranmaleshvar lake, said to have been built by Rao Ranmal, with its western bank covered with picturesque domed cupolas, chhatris, raised over the ashes of the forefathers of the leading Idar families.

Best hotel for food in and around idar for a very long time now. No any competitors came near to it, in terms of food, loved by all the nearby villagers too and all the migratory tourists on their way to ambaji.
I was surprised at the brilliant food they serve. Far better than typical unlimited thali you get in cities. They accept UPI as well. Must try are Dal Baati, Bhakri, Sev Gathiya.
It is one of the best hotel in my list. When ever we are going to ambaji we go here . It is inbetween himmtanagar and idar. So go here once and try Panjabi food you definitely say that it is one of the best Panjabi restuarant
